If you want a little window into what the Left has in store for everyone, take a look at this. Legendary screen actress Brigitte Bardot has been convicted in France for ‘inciting racial hatred.’ What did she do? She spoke her mind, in a letter, that Muslims are destroying her nation.

Interestingly, if people should be arrested for giving Islam a bad name, shouldn’t the world be arresting Islamists instead of those who make that point?

Former screen siren Bardot convicted in race case

A Paris court on Tuesday convicted Brigitte Bardot of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.

The court also handed down a $23,325 fine against the former screen siren and animal rights campaigner.

A leading French anti-racism group known as MRAP filed a lawsuit last year over a letter she sent to then-Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. The remarks were published in her foundation’s quarterly journal.

In the December 2006 letter to Sarkozy, now the president, Bardot said France is “tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts.”

She was referring to the Muslim feast of Aid el-Kebir, celebrated by slaughtering sheep.

French anti-racism laws prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds. Bardot had been convicted four times previously for inciting racial hatred.

So, Bardot is arrested, prosecuted and convicted for speaking the truth. The irony, of course, is that all of this simply proves and confirms her point.

‘muslim’ isn’t a race. and why is it that only cruelty to animals- and don’t get me wrong i am an insane like my cats better then humans and only donate to animal oriented charities sort-that invoke any outrage against the excesses of islam? isn’t hatred of women and killing of americans because they are americans enough to demand protest? how about the hatred of jews and calls to obliterate israel? i like sheep fine and her larger point is well taken and is the heart of the matter but a country who invented stuffing food down a gooses throat to get foie gras needs to really think about the real reasons why it’s poor suburbs erupt in riots and flames every summer- and feel real outrage over the religiously sanctioned degradation of woman by an entire ‘ race’- mullah approved hatred is hatred not the critiques of such and not recognizing such is asking to be submitted to allah by the covert force of PC brainwashing.

The conviction of Bardot is an international outrage. This woman represented France with the type of Gallic, romantic mischief that her peers could only try to emulate.
Let this be a lesson to us. When we see Lady Justice thumbing the scales while dressed in a burqah it will be too late. When we see the Statue of Liberty (a gift from France) adorned in hajib, it will be too late. As a matter to consider; How many times can we hit the snooze button until it’s not worth waking up?
Tammy, you’ve become part of my daily dynamic. I get you in Boston via the stream. Almost like a Radio Free Boston; or the Maquis in France listening for codes. You might imagine how stilted the leftist conversation is to my gay ears when like lemmings they’re running from Hillary to Barak.

And I guess Mark Steyn will be next in Canada.

Very sad . . . . and very, very scary. I just don’t see how so few people realize that this is what we get from the Left.

She was brought under false charges in the first place, there is no race called Islam.

This reminds me of what the very brave Oriana Fallaci endured in Italy. Thank God for people with the courage to stand up and take the heat, call things by their right name, and suffer the consequences! People in this world act like they are in some kind of Neptunian stupor, walking about dazed and confused.

What should we do about it?

Inverted McCarthyism at it’s best. Orwell is laughing his A$$ off right now.

Reprehensible. I should revitalize my post-Rwanda / above-ground-nuclear-test-ban violating bumper sticker campaign from “The French are the Real Enemy” to “Exonerate Bridget.”

Somehow we’ve got to learn to stop treating these countries like babies, so they’ll stop acting like them.

Given the choice between a bunch of cowardly French judges destroying Voltaire’s legacy and a bunch of easily lead American jurors awarding $1,000,000 to a clumsy woman who spilled hot coffee on herself, I’ll take the jurors.

Someone needs to start a petition to Sarkozy to pardon her. As much as we may have our differences, most of the French public, as opposed to their elites, are still a part of Western civilization, and they’d support it by the millions.

The French adore Bardot, this can only be good for a chance they’ll WAKE UP! Let’s hope….
and then, maybe, WE can, too!?

I hope that there is some kind of appeals process she can pursue. But, having been convicted 4 times for “racial hatred,” I kind of think she sees this as a badge of honor. She didn’t shut up after the 1st time or the 2nd time, and I don’t think this is going to shut her up either. It’s good to be Brigitte Bardot, French icon.

  13. Mahatlek says:

Bardot should be given a medal. Once they silence all the “Bardot’s” the next step is to tear down all western laws and customs. Those that refuse to hear her message will one day be enslaved by Islamic fanatics of every kind if not just eliminated by these poeple.
