I’m just asking. After seeing this photo today from the Florida Repub Governors meeting, I stopped thinking for a minute which made me think, “Well, that can’t be good.” What say you?

I don’t feel that I have a problem taking Sarah seriously, but I feel that in general attractive women often have that problem. If Margaret Thatcher had looked like Sarah, I think she probably wouldn’t have been taken as seriously as she was. Maybe someday we’ll get past it…

  2. LongviewCyclist says:

    Voted yes and no.
It’s a novelty that we can get past.

In the meantime, I’m still looking for a Palin poster. Something with her in pleather, I think.
    **snickers**

  3. storytold says:

Pat_S! Where’s Pat_S!? The pigs are out again!!

  4. Kelly says:

Her hotness doesn’t make her any less competent and the kind of person we need in politics.

That being said, many times during the campaign, I’d suddenly realize that I hadn’t heard a word she said because I was staring at her and thinking impure thoughts. Is that a bad thing? πŸ˜‰

  5. Tyger says:

I don’t have a problem with taking Sarah seriously. What causes a good looking person to fall from been taking seriously is when they open their mouth and mindless talk comes out. As an example, when Hayden Panettiere opened her mouth to take a shot at John McCain.

  6. Leslie says:

she is just freakin’ hot and sexy…and I am hetero! I think her leadership ability and motherly aspects totally add to her hotness. I mean come on…smart and sexy?…what intelligent person WOULDN’T love that πŸ™‚

  7. F. Bastiat says:

I voted no. Her hotness is an asset, just like yours Tammy! Oh, and I’m a gay villager up here in Alaska.

  8. ChrisL says:

No, it’s a definite asset. Just look what it’s done for Hillary!

  9. freedom76 says:

You’re hot and we take you seriously.

  10. artgal says:

I don’t have a problem taking Palin seriously at all. In fact, I think the ‘hotness liability’ is quite petty considering all we’re facing as a nation. The last thing I’m worried about is what Palin or anybody else looks like when we have the federal government wrestling control of our economy and screwing up more lives & businesses in the process, threats from abroad as well as within and so much uncertainty. I am just thankful Palin is a woman with integrity, strength, intelligence and a core belief system she lives by. She’s an accomplished leader & committed to carrying out the traditions that led to this country’s greatness. She is also not afraid to stand up for what’s right – that’s leadership we have not had in a very long time. That’s what gets my attention.

  11. HALEY says:

I second Leslie’s comment on this one! I agree with you 100%!

  12. pat_s says:

    STORYTOLD: Huh?

How many mother-of-5 look that good?? She is one in a million πŸ™‚

re Palin/Stevens ….. a couple of scenarios are possible.

Steven wins, and resigns… Sarah can name Stevens replacement. She could opt to move to the Senate, but that isn’t a good idea.

Stevens wins, and is removed by his peers… an election needs to take place (I don’t think Sarah can name a replacement.)

Begich wins …. another dang dem goes to Washington πŸ™

  15. ladykrystyna says:

I voted “no” because that’s the way it SHOULD be, but in reality it’s more like “yes and no” because, as can be seen by the “naughty” comments above, we’re only human. We have eyes that see and we are creatures of biology.

Sarah Palin is very attractive. I’m hetero as well and I would dare say “hot”. My husband was training for his deployment to Iraq so I called and asked him what he thought of Palin. He said that she looks like a naughty librarian! And trust me, my husband likes smart AND sexy (otherwise he wouldn’t be with me! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› )

So there is that aspect and we can joke about it.

I’m just afraid that all this negative stuff continued to come out because the Left was afraid (and correct) that Palin would continue the fight as Gov. of Alaska and they wanted to keep the idea of her being “Caribou Barbie” firmly implanted in the minds of Americans so that if she ever tried again, she would fail on that basis.

I haven’t watched the videos yet – and I will – but if what I’m hearing from y’all is true, she’ll do better being her OWN PERSON rather than as the 2nd person on a ticket. If she does her thing, she’ll quickly dispel any thoughts of her being “Caribou Barbie”.

Go, Sarah! I seriously just want to go to Alaska now and hang with her!

    STORYTOLD:

Oh, I think you mean about the Donny Deutsch business awhile back. He was recommending that a hot looking woman should deliberately promote her attractiveness for her advantage. This is kind of the opposite—can a hot woman be taken seriously.

  18. MetalGirl1 says:

I’d go gay for her…Is that bad?

  19. wannaberocker says:

Funny thing is a liberal said to me “you like Palin becuase shes a hot woman”.Which is not true because if BS comes out of a hot mouth, its still BS. Anyways then that same person turned around, to talk about how “hot and goodlooking ” obama was.

  20. ashleymatt says:

Having seen Palin in person, I can attest that she is distractingly gorgeous (as good as she looks on film, you ain’t seen nothing), but more in a glowing way than a sexual way. It is an actual case of a person’s inner beauty shining through to encompass their physical beauty.

The problem is that some men belittle and objectify good looking women and compliment their bodies rather than their abilities and leadership skills. But the great thing about Sarah is that she doesn’t use her beauty or sex appeal to sway people, she flattens every pig in her way, and with a lovely smile.

P.S. I’m glad you’ve finally taken notice of her, Tammy.

I’d just remind everyone to stay respectful. We are talking about a future Head of State.

  21. Floyd R. Turbo says:

I voted no. I am wholeheartedly in favor of a woman being lovely, and Governor Palin is LOVELY with a capital “L”. But, when she opens her mouth, her intelligence and level-thinking is obvious and that is what counts. Remember the beauty contestant, wasn’t it last year, who couldn’t give a cognitive answer to a simple question? She was gorgeous but proved she had not much between her ears. In that case, beauty is useless eye candy. If I am presented with listening to a beautiful woman, yes, my red blooded maleness will immediately notice her lovely face, nice bust, cute bum, gorgeous legs. That takes only a few seconds of scan. When she opens her mouth to speak, that’s where the rubber meets the road. Is that beauty backed up with intelligence? A woman, or a hot guy for that matter, has to be more than just eye candy. Works on both sides of gender.

  22. Floyd R. Turbo says:

PS: I, too, am with FREEDOM76…we listen to you, Tammy, and you’re gorgeous…we take you VERY seriously. So, what’s the problem?

  23. Ednamode says:

So maybe THAT’S why some women hate her. They’re jealous of her looks. I knew it wasn’t just because she’s pro life:P

  24. freedom76 says:

Thank you LongviewCyclist and Floyd R. Turbo. I try to be pithy. Maybe we can start a Palin/Bruce ticket for 2012 now. πŸ™‚ Obama won on charm, but we can have the whole package in 2012!

  25. Floyd R. Turbo says:

    Now you’re talkin’ FREEDOM76!

  26. Talkin Horse says:

As a mature gentleman, I think I’m capable of keeping my practical focus on her leadership assets; however I admit that I am hardwired to be swayed by her physical assets, and this bothers me somewhat. On the other hand, is this any different from charismatic politicians like Obama and Clinton and Reagan who, whatever their underlying assets are, know how to work the crowd and do so for all they’re worth? Everyone uses their God-given assets as best they can. It’s part of the human equation.

Forgive the implied vulgarity; the site I’m going to link here is not a vulgar site. But it’s interesting that a site so-named could even exist. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then don’t ask.) Worth a peek. VPilf.com.

  27. rswjtg says:

No more distracting than reading the website of a hot media star such as yourself. What was that you say?

  28. Lamplighter says:

It’s definitely not a liability. There is a tendency for people to associate attractiveness with “goodness”. In fact, I heard someone say that he election this year was little more than an episode of “American Idol”. Remember how they fawned all over Obama on “The Veiw”?
Her good looks help, but it’s her inherent excellence that compels attention.
(Yes, surpassing even her inherently excellent figure. Oops. Male moment).

  29. Maxine Weiss says:

Ronald Reagan was a matinee idol before he was President.

  30. Paul From Hamburg says:

Sarah’s hotness is a definite asset. It does however, tend to have a negative impact on my workplace productivity. When I find myself thinking about Sarah too much, this is what I do:
    1. Go to the Tammy Gallery
    2. Count down 4 pictures
    3. Enjoy the picture of Tammy with the white blouse and devastating “come hither” look.
I don’t get any more work done, but I am thinking about someone other than Sarah. πŸ˜‰

  31. jj says:

As Jack Palance used to say, “Confidence is sexy”.

  32. Dissentery says:

Tammy’s crush on Palin is so adorable /cute.

  33. Maxine Weiss says:

Physical attractiveness is part of communication. A Great Communicator is naturally going to be, at least somewhat, physically attractive.

I thought, when you put Palin up next to McCain….she sort of completed him. She really completed the picture. When I first saw Palin side-by-side with John McCain it was a major revelation…I thought “Eureka, this is really what every distinguished older male Presidental Gent needs….a beautiful woman to complete the scene”. Her presence seemed to sort of balance things out, not that John McCain was unattractive, but that she lent something to the ticket that was not there before.

Contrast that with Biden’s addition to the Obama ticket….and with Biden added…..the Democratic ticket got progressively more unattractive. And yet, on November 4, I think each and every voter knew that. I don’t think Obama voters are dumb, and I think their innate sense of what looks better and what’s attractive, your eye…and their eye (Obama Voters) had to have instinctively gone to McCain and Palin; but Obama voters were willing to go against their own sense of what’s attractive, and what isn’t, both physically and pragmatically, all for fear of being called racist.

Here you are in the ballot booth, and confronted with a black man and a rather unattractive VP, and an ugly truth….-vs- a much more attractive ticket physically and intellectually. But, it doesn’t matter, because fear of racism wins out everytime.

And so what we are left with is a President that, I feel, is so unattractive, and I’m turned off even by the sound of his voice not to mention the ugly policies….that for the next 4 years, I just won’t be able to watch or listen to his press conferences/speeches. Sad, but I’ll still read about his antics, I imagine. Won’t ever watch or listen to him. Repelled, perhaps not so much by his looks, but the “ugliness” in his ideology and rhetoric.

  34. David says:

Sarah Palin is the person the Republicans have been waiting for since the era of Reagan. Despite what you think of John McCain (right now I’m not too thrilled with him), he did leave the GOP a gift that will keep on giving in Sarah Palin. It was the prefect avenue for her to appear on the national scene. And I love the fact that she is using the opportunity to promote herself as the leader of the GOP (or at least trying to).

The fact that she is incredibly HOT doesn’t take away anything from her politics in my opinion.

  35. BiasedGirl says:

Governor Palin is a role model for women who are Smart, Strong, Beautiful and Aggressive. These women are often just brushed off as “B***Hes”. It’s not right I see it with my sister all the time. She is very attractive, Model like and I’m not using any hyperbole.People see her an assume that she is an air head. Once she opens her mouth, it becomes clear very quickly that she is a very bright girl and opinionated. She is well read, and graduated with a 4.0 from Penn State. People then turn on her and are awful. I mean horrible. Watching Sarah Palin take all that critizism with such grace and charm has inspired my Sister and for that I am forever grateful to Sarah. She’s got my vote in 2012 if she wants it.

  36. AntonK says:

She’s hot indeed, and obviously has a great sex life. No hindrance to a great political career that I can see!

  37. Ohms says:

Where is it written that a female leader needs to be pug ugly to be taken “seriously”? I have a dream that one day I will live in a nation where people will not be judged by the smokin’ hotness of their skin but by the content of their character… or words to that effect. Seriously, am I the only one left in America that is more concerned with how the person will do the job than what how their skin is shaded or formed?

  38. DamnWalker says:

As a hetero male, I find my first reaction upon seeing her is somewhat physical–a gut grab that says “wow, she’s fine….”. However, once that initial “surge” passes (males learn to live with this, happens to us hundreds of times a day all of our adult, breathing lives), I try to listen to what she is saying. If she learns to clearly enunciate her beliefs, faith and life experience, she will be unstoppable. There is some vocabulary and speaking work to be done there.

Her looks ARE a liability to old-time feminists of the Hillary/Estrich mold. For some reason an attractive women who has a family and birthed 5 children scares the Bee-Jeebus out of them. They are viscerally illogical when assessing her. I’ve noticed that men tend to see her favorably, conservative/moderate women of open minds view her favorably, and old-time feminists hate the hell out of her. I think its old-fahsioned un-PC cattiness myself.

  39. DamnWalker says:

BTW Tammy, in ref to my last post about old-time feminists and their hatred of Palin. I would like to hear your views on this, since you originally came out fo that movement. Why do you think their repsonse is so visceral and negative? I think as an “ex-insider” your perspective on this will help those of who encounter these folks and their disdain for her everyday.

  40. maria horvath says:

If this image of her as “hot” were the only one of her, then I’d say this would be a problem. But there are other just as significant images we have of Sarah Palin: the loving mother holding her infant, the clever and witty debater, the cheerful campaigner, the optimistic patriot, to mention just a few.

  41. Idiot#3 says:

I voted, “Yes, I stop thinking when I see her”. While that’s a back-row wise-ass vote, sometimes when the camera closes in for a good look at those sparkling, chocolate-brown eyes, I must admit thinking, “whatever you say is just fine with me, cupcake”. And, if during the heat of summer she happens to be interviewed, still sweaty from her morning run, for her thoughts about the preferred footwear of Serbian goat keepers, I’ll probably record it.

Putting aside her being physically distracting, she is obviously more than competent and a naturally gifted leader.

  42. daredevilaccordian says:

As my boyfriend would say… MILF.

    Answer for OHMS:
Q:Where is it written that a female leader needs to be pug ugly to be taken “seriously”?
A: in the official platform of the Democrat Party.

  43. AntonK says:

Oh, here’s Dennis Miller on Sarah Palin’s sex life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebgiT0EtnnQ

    Great!!
