The IAEA submitted its official report on the September ’07 Israeli bombing of a facility in Syria that, according to the report, ‘resembled a nuclear reactor’. It had features characteristic of a nuclear facility and significant amounts of uranium particles in the area but the IAEA says it can’t say for sure what the purpose of the facility was. Syria says it was a military site but no, no not involved with anything nuclear. The IAEA is going to ask Damascus for some more information about the uranium debris. I was wondering about that too.

The IAEA is also stymied when it comes to Iran. They did conclude Iran is still enriching uranium in defiance of the U.N. Security Council. Unfortunately, the IAEA investigation into Iran’s nuclear weapons program is deadlocked. Believe or not, Tehran isn’t providing substantive information on its activities. Gee willikers, now what?

It never ceases to amaze me at the levels of total incompetence in this world. Stymied I say…..stymied.
On another note: To bring in more viewers to the nightly mainstream news agencies, Foghorn Leghorn has signed a 4 year $32 million contract to anchor CBS, NBC and ABC news. Mr. Leghorn was quoted as saying: “The IAEA is about as sharp, I say as sharp as a bowling ball.”

    Iran is a coiled snake.

What’s even more frightening is that nuclear scientists cannot come to a theoretically provable conclusion on what would occur if a reactor at full operating power is exposed to the neutron flux of the detonation of a tactical nuclear weapon… maybe BIG BADDA BOOM (apologies to Bruce Willis)

Mr. Leghorn is right in one respect about the IAEA being as effective as a bowling ball. But they are weighted and put on quite a roll.
I guess we would have to see a parody Gilbert and Sullivan of a ‘modern major general’ but as nuclear investigators; three blind mice, the hear, see and speak no evil monkeys.
