Another Liberal Republican disaster.

In addition to withholding state tax refunds, California Governator Schwarzenegger has finally received court approval for his plan to have state workers take two unpaid days off each month. But even during what is an economic crisis of epic proportions the union vampires did everything they could to fight the order. Forget what it costs, forget the disaster we’re in thanks to liberals and their union constituencies; all they want is more, more, more. Pathetic. Just a little reminder for all of us that liberals and their kool-aid drinking gestapos think only of themselves at the expense of everyone else.

Furlough of state workers must start now, court says

Reporting from Sacramento — A state court has ordered government officials to immediately implement Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s executive order requiring state employees take two days off without pay each month, denying claims by unions and the state controller that the order is illegal.

The decision by Sacramento Superior Court Patrick Marlette clears the way for 238,000 state employees to be furloughed on the first and third Fridays of each month starting Feb. 6. Marlette said in his ruling that the governor has the authority to implement such cuts during an emergency.

The state is in the midst of a financial crisis, with an immediate cash shortage and a projected deficit of nearly $42 billion by the middle of next year. Refunds to taxpayers and other payments will be suspended Feb. 1 because the state does not have the money for them…

Public employees unions had argued that furloughs must be approved by the Legislature. State Controller John Chiang agreed and sided in court with the Service Employees International Union, Local 1000, the Professional Engineers in California Government and the California Assn. of Professional Scientists.

They’re part of the problem that created this mess, now let them suck it up.

I have family living in Sacramento who believe Socialism has propelled California to greatness. I asked them what drove Levi Strauss, a company that originated and stayed in the Bay area for 112 years, to leave, their answer was “greed”. I asked them could it possibly be the extra 32% “business infrastructure tax” levied against them by Newsom and then Govenor Davis? Their answer was a resounding “NO”. This is what Arnold is up against. Pray for the man.

What frosts me the most is that companies all over the state are cutting pay, mandating days off, and firing people. If the private sector has to do this to survive, why or why, does government think it is exempt? Talk about welfare. I am tend towards the notion that government jobs ( certain exceptions of course. thank you all for you service) are nothing but welfare checks ( not even disguised)

These idiots do not realize that they are lucky to even have their jobs.

This pretty much explains that term “non-essential personnel”; those elements that are urged to stay home during snow-storms, hurricanes and major disasters because they contribute to traffic and transportation woes.
So your tax dollar is used to pay people who provide traffic which their co-workers in another department are paid to regulate.
In a few words, “Who needs them?”
Oh yes, they need people to study, design tasks for and regulate this employed force of non-essential personnel.”
How many people will be employed to determine how many jobs are not nesessary – “essential”.

The four propsitions that Arnold wanted in his first term were designed to address the union problems and eliminate auto-pilot spending. The voters rejected them. A.S. adopted a risky campaign strategy, realizing that his supporters had little money compaired to the unions. They ran a barrage of ads beginning about two weeks before the ballot initiatives, hoping to counteract the millions per week the unions spent fighting them since they were announced. The unions won, and the legislature hardened against A.S. because they are in labor’s pocket, so any cooperation with the guy that tried to take away the punch bowl is heresy.

Now we have complete gridlock that I fear will put more Republicans out of the legislature, and give us a uberliberal democrat governor. Probably “governer moonbeam” Jerry Brown.

Josai’s lib family members are typical of what you see all over San Fran. They sit in their gated communities and admonish the police for hassling people who urinate and defecate in the streets and alleys. They pass “living wage” laws that drive out business and then make family owned business exemptions so that they can be sure their drycleaning will be ready for pickup around the corner, and the family that owns the business effectively become their slaves. Nice. This feudal system will be spread throughout California.

But wasn’t the one initiative Ahnuld backed that actually passed the non-partisan redistricting commission? That’ll draw new lines after the 2010 census that won’t be as gerrymandered as the present legislative districts, so I think Kaaleefonia is still in for some more surprises.

I guess it is true that “everything begins and mostly ends in California”. Arnold shouldn’t have listened to his Liberal wife and California would be in alot better shape. This guy is such an anomaly among Republican Governors. Next time California, elect a natural born citizen. You can look to what is currently in the White House to see foreign influence just doesn’t work here.
