Some illegals and pro-amnesty supporters are urging illegals not to be counted in the 2010 census. Honest people might jump to the conclusion shame or fear may be the motivator. That is a mistake. It is a boycott intended to pressure politicians to empathize with the plight of being here illegally and do something to provide a path to legalization. If illegals don’t allow themselves to be counted, governments will receive less money based on census figures. Pro-amnesty sympathizers are urged to join in the boycott.

As one immigrant leader puts it.

“Politics is about power and money, and by not giving your information, you’ll be taking away money and power from the politicians.’’

People who disregard law and property are using other people’s money to coerce politicians for selfish ends. Were it not for the generosity and goodwill of the American people, no one would ever imagine something so ridiculous as using illegal presence as a bargaining tool.

Immigration activists urge census boycott

A small but vocal group of advocates is urging illegal immigrants and their supporters nationwide to boycott the 2010 Census to protest the government’s inaction on immigration legislation, a move that, if successful, could cost Massachusetts and other states millions of dollars.

The campaign is setting off alarms across the United States because census figures are crucial to determining how much federal funding cities and towns receive. A large-scale boycott, state officials and prominent pro-immigrant groups warn, could force Massachusetts to cut services from school lunch programs to highway construction, and heighten its chances of losing a seat in Congress.

But proponents say the boycott would pressure politicians to address problems illegal immigrants face every day – such as long separations from their families back home [My suggestion to solve this problem–go home! —p] – and pursue a comprehensive overhaul of the country’s immigration system that would provide a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants.

What if outraged citizens boycott the census? What if citizens decide not to pay taxes for the politicians to spend? Who has the power?

As another immigrant advocate says,

“It may create more antagonism against immigrants,’’ Siqueira said. “This is not a campaign that makes sense.’’

Very little makes sense these days.

let’s ask this- in Mass. in a completely, sickly liberal city what happens when a citizen following the letter of the law only fills in what’s required by the Constitution on the census?

you get harassed by’ community activists’ aka census takers at home and you get thrown off the voting list. and this was before the election of Dear Leader. imagine now.

i purposely registered as a republican even though i don’t consider myself one- just to be annoying – because that’s how i roll. i was rejected outright for being able to vote because they said my address “did not exist”- in a building near 100 years old, a building still owned by the family of the freed slave who bought the place. once i went to the town hall and screamed about disenfranchising people who lived in minority neighborhoods in buildings bought with the free earnings of former slaves- and caused much scurrying about by hysterical hippies -they said i was all set, ‘ so sorry’. ( this was 2000 and i think they nearly jumped out of their birkenstocks when i said, ” what is this florida- you’re going to cherry pick who gets to vote by the complexion of their neighborhood ?”. much scurrying was caused by that…)

this was about 10 years ago. since then i have voted in every election and every election i get thrown off the voter list for being ‘ inactive’- even though by state law you’re an active voter if you vote in 2 consecutive elections. their fervor in removing me from the voting list appears to be tied to my refusal to fill out the entire census- although at first i thought the big R part gave them hives. year after year i get sent follow ups to the census claiming i didn’t fill it all in and therefore i must do it or be removed from the voting list or in their words’ be declared inactive’. i send them back with only what the constitution requires-

The actual number of people living at the address printed on the form
Age of each person in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
Sex of each person, in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
( title 13 is not part of the constitution- and a judge ruled you cannot be forced to answer anything but the above.)

and they send to back and remove me from the voting list- every year for 10 years. i just got ,in fact, my special love note from the election commission saying i will be declared inactive unless i return the little card saying otherwise. i only expect things will get worse now. i’ve just gotten used to it being here- now everyone else can join in my fun.

i am a f’ing citizen- one who came here legally and followed the rules-and i can’t even vote in peace without being harassed continually.

I can see the pressure on politicians, using money as a bargaining chip, but as far as I’m concerned this is dumb from the perspective of others. I don’t want illegals counted in the census anyway. It’s as if your state is offering a lottery and the illegals say “Let’s not buy into it to make government take us more seriously.” They’re trying to deny politicians their money, but they’re denying themselves a (potential) benefit as well.

What’s this about some state losing a seat in congress because of this? Congressional seats are supposed to apportioned according to the number of citizens. They’re counting illegals for congressional seats??

Okay, let me get this straight: the libs purposefully (oops) leave the borders wide open basically providing a handwritten “welcome to America” invitation for people to pour into our country, causing the lion’s share of our current fiscal, healthcare, educational and criminal problems (not the least of which – a wide open door to terrorists) as a means to broaden their support base (a.k.a., gaining voters, by hook or by crook) and then their straw man support base turns their own game back on the libs? Do I have that about right?

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

From where I’m standing, very few politician’s have any problem using other people’s property to advance their own ends; in fact, it almost appears as though they seek out ways to do so. But, maybe that’s just me.

I say to all those illegals: boycott, boycott, boycott away!!! A. Have fun paying the fine (whatever it is determined to be by whomever – it is pretty clear no one “in charge” is looking to the Constituion for that answer – or anything else for that matter) and then; B. bye bye! No more money for social programs to service you and your extended family; so howz about you do us all a favor and take your sorry ass the ef home, eh? See what you can get from Calderon. I hear he’s a real sport. Geez louise.
