So it isn’t the complications from the lethal injection that motivates Darryl Durr, it’s a possible reaction to the anesthesia administered in connection with his execution that concerns him. His execution is a complication from raping and strangling a 16-yr old girl— in 1988!

Ohio inmate set for execution argues anesthesia allergy could complicate lethal injection

A condemned Ohio inmate who says he’s allergic to anesthesia is undertaking what appears to be a unique legal maneuver, arguing that no one knows how his body will react if state officials are allowed next week to inject him with the one lethal drug they now use.

“One of the things the Ohio Constitution guarantees is that he has a quick and painless execution,” said defense attorney Kathleen McGarry.

“If he’s going to react to the anesthetic drugs in such a manner that he’s going to have a violent reaction, either vomiting or seizures or whatever the spectrum is that could happen, then obviously the execution has problems,” she said.

Ohio allows people to be executed, but not if it makes them sick? The nauseating effort to escape punishment failed.

State: No sign of Ohio inmate’s anesthesia allergy

The filing says the allergy references come solely from Durr’s own statements that he’s allergic to general anesthetic.

It also says Durr has taken a painkiller used in Ohio’s backup execution method without problems.

A federal judge also refused Friday to stop the execution based on Durr’s request for more DNA testing.

No matter what the S.O.B. experiences on the day of his death, it cannot be terrible enough for what he did.

So inject him with Benadryl too.

  2. RuBegonia says:

Well, they always prep the injection site with antiseptic solution to prevent *subsequent* infection – so there are no grounds for lawsuit there. Chuckle.

Isn’t the guillotine quick and painless?

Now that our prisons are over-over-crowded, do we still spend millions upon millions of dollars keeping these whale turds around? 1988? Look at all the wasteful public (taxpayer) spending that was used to keep this jerk around for 21 long years. Once they linked his DNA with the murder, they should of used an $0.85 non-allergenic bullet on his ass.

let’s offer him a choice- he can have the shot he’s allergic to or be raped and then strangled to death. that’s one more option than his victim got and she wasn’t even allowed to appeal her death penalty on the grounds it was ‘ cruel and unusual’.

i knew i had had it with the left- where i was suppose to be all comfy and cozy and safe from the ‘ religious right’ trying to kill me or something- when i could no longer ignore the fact that they tended to support the most evil of criminals perpetually and uncritically. the girl who sat next to me in freshman home room was kidnapped , assaulted and left half alive to die, tied to a tree in a state park. this was in 1978. it took 29 years of appeals and mistrials until his murder conviction was finally upheld with no chance of further appeal. i have been haunted by what happened to that girl. he deserved to die. her mother has been through unspeakable misery watching the judicial farce around her daughter’s cold blooded sadistic murderer.

i bought a bottle of champagne when they fried ted bundy and my so called friends thought i was a monster. that they champion the real monsters seems lost on them. murdering and raping females because they are females is what’s monstrous. ignoring this is morally depraved. evil never had a better friend then the bleeding heart liberal whose heart only goes out to those who have committed unspeakable crimes at the expense of recognizing the innocent victims, the only ones truly deprived of any justice.

Well, as of 10:36 am today-Tuesday, April 20, 2010, Darryl Durr is no more. Apparently he didn’t have an allergy after all-big surprise there. Well done Ohio!
