They’re old! They’re white! They wear funny hats! They’re protesting against a black President’s policy! They disrespected an elected a seated Senator by occupying his local office and raising their voices! Shall we conclude they are fans of Fox News and talk radio?

Not much hand wringing about this incident of extremists-against-Obama. I have a hunch protest is not something new for them. A few days later they were at it again, demonstrating in front of Senator Klobuchar’s Minneapolis Office. (Warning: This video clip includes a depressing rendition of aging hippies singing “We Shall Overcome” and other greatest hits of the 60’s protest era.)

Despite the wailing about the uncivil discourse of our times, I think these people remember well another time. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they’ve been arrested before and many years ago for civil disobedience that was somewhat more raucous than their effort last week. Ah, the sweet memories of our youth! Back then a die-in was just a die-in. Now it’s nap time.

I know this is off topic… But I need to correct my previous opinion…

After talking to a pilot who I respect, believes as I NOW do that the Polish plane crashed was caused by pilot error.

So again, I stand corrected … The Polish Plane was not caused by the Russians…

but, but barry was going to bring back the love -in ….

old white people say yes those who say no to afganistan?

there were a few of the ‘ out of afganistan’ people at the boston tea party but they seemed low key. there were a lot more viet nam era vets and bikers of a certain age more vocally pissed off at barry’s domestic tragedy-strategy.

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, protests by aging hippies happen whenever the wind shifts. They’re the same spoiled, narcissistic brats they were in the 60s but now they have AARP cards.

It did make me laugh that their “die in” looked like the hippie version of the “I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up” commercial.

I am guessing these pillars of the community are among the 47% that did not pay any income tax.

Hey isn’t this pathetic crowd the same one that used to shriek in the 1960’s, “Defy authority,” and “Don’t trust anyone over 30?”
Of course, they were much younger, then. Must be a bummer to float around all pixieish without the body to match.
‘Guess Mich Jagger was kinda right. For some, “it’s a drag getting old.” I don’t trust these guys. LOL
