Birthday cake for Germany’s favorite polar bear
Knut, Germany’s favorite polar bear, has celebrated his 4th birthday with a lavish party at his zoo attended by about 250 people.
Fish and meat were served in the polar bear’s snow-covered, outdoor enclosure at the Berlin Zoo on Sunday, followed by a birthday cake shaped like the number 4.
As Knut gobbled up his cake, the spectators sang “Happy Birthday” to him, the German news agency DAPD reported.
The visitors also were given the rare opportunity to feed Knut, and he seemed to enjoy the bread, fruit and fish they brought for him.
Knut has been a star in Germany since he was hand-raised by zoo keepers after his mother rejected him at birth.
Oh, Knut had a girl friend for short time. Well, more of a friend who was a girl. They played and had a good time, but it ended up being just platonic. He, apparently, was still a bit too young and she stole his carrots. She eventually moved back home to Munich.

Hey, I have a Tammy question — who is the Gallagher Tammy is speaking of when she says McCain will become like Gallagher? Does she mean the old prop-comedian, and if so, how would he be like Gallagher? I don’t understand this.

gallagher is one of our locals here. his last bit in his show is the sledge-o-matic. he takes an oversized sledge hammer and with a single swing pounds the crap out of stuff-like a watermelon. first couple of rows are like the wet zone in sea world. yup , one swing and stuff was splattered-like pushing a bad senate bill.
he’s actually a pretty thoughtful man. i was lucky enough to speak to him at of all places a bachelor party for my friend. he was marrying a woman who watched his house when he was touring and they even got married at his place.
