Tammy – Your shows have been great, as usual 🙂 Thanks for sharing that you haven’t been able to watch all the news on Japan. I just can’t bring myself to do it anymore either and haven’t over the past few years. I allowed myself to become too emotionally invested in the images I was seeing, sometimes even the stories I was reading. It was like a dark cloud hung over my head the rest of the day so I don’t…can’t….do it anymore. I refer to it as ‘self-preservation’ and it’s made a huge difference. I applaud your efforts at self-preservation and thanks again for talking about it.

i too appreciate your candor about crisis fatigue. it is inevitable with a 24 hour news cycle. the constant shuffling of priorities costs energy. you are the one who’s head is exploding so our’s doesn’t, so this time, tammy, i’ll watch the japan news for you!
i have a cousin who will be flying into the southern, less effected prefecture next week. other than food and water shortages and rolling blackouts, that area is hanging tough. she is going back to help with the huge influx of refugees from the danger areas.

I expect Obama to come out with a “presidential” speech on the 17th or 18th that addresses the Japan issue. The point will be to preempt Palin’s India speech. Palin is always dynamic, so it is probable that she will work the Japanese and Sri Lanka tidal waves into her speech. Obama’s people will anticipate this and try to preempt her. I think conservatives should call him out on this before he does it.
The Rio trip was probably scheduled in response to Palin’s India trip, but now that the tidal wave has happened Palin is given the chance to show that she is more presidential and more relevant than Obama. Conservatives should start saying publicly that if Obama addresses the Japanese issue on the 17th or 18th he his is doing it for political reasons rather than any sincere concern for Japan.
good catch, i think you are right about the timing. it is a bit junior high school and therefore a integral part of his philosophy.
i’ll be waiting a good long time for anyone calling him out on it though…

Tammy – FYI I was listening to Raymond hosting the Laura Ingraham show…3/15 show…& he said “it doesn’t appear that Sarah Palin is running (in 2012)” FYI He also had Michelle Bachman on & didn’t ask her why she was so silent during the Tuscon mess…….their show has a love affair with Michelle.

What has the Obama Administration and the Democrats done, ever done, that has been considered SAFE?
The schools are screwed up more than ever, kids start school unable to read or write, and then they leave school still unable to read or write, but they do learn how to ‘SAVE THE PLANET’.
Gun laws are used to protect the citizenry from the criminals, but instead the citizenry have become the unarmed (call 911) sheep to the always armed criminals; ‘Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight’.
Insert an example and judge for yourself if you can trust the Democrats and Obama that something is SAFE.
