A good ad, nicely highlights the rank absurdity Obama and his disconnection with real life and the people of this nation.

Speaking of disconnected hypocrites who have no idea what’s really happening in this country…

The Hill: Obama raises $15M at Clooney’s home

President Obama raised $15 million for his reelection bid at actor George Clooney’s Los Angeles home Thursday night.

That amount includes the $40,000 per ticket price and the proceeds from an online auction, where two people were selected to attend the event.

DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg, who co-hosted the fundraiser, announced the record amount at the event, according to a White House pool report.

Obama thanked him and Clooney for their support.

“We raised a lot of money because everybody loves George. They like me; they love him,” he said.

The fundraiser was filled with famous faces. Spotted in the crowd: Tobey Maguire, Stacy Kiebler, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Salma Hayek, Barbra Streisand, James Brolin and Billy Crystal…

And yesterday from Steve Lopez at the L.A. Times

There are a lot of over-the-top, snarky things they could have done with that, like juxtaposing it with all the lavish freebees the O’s have given themselves. This was a good judgement call to set a somber tone about an America in economic pain.

It is a good reflective ad. Makes me want to stop & think about it.

The ads have been good, and produced fast with current clips, but as Tammy pointed out on the show this week, who is the audience? I have seen them but only as part of a TV show where they are “discussed” or thru folks like Tammy who link to them. IMO I think one aim is to show those of us who are paying attention at this point in the campaign that the GOP is ready to win the election. That they can produce some good quality stuff and we should expect more of the same once the conventions finish. I also think that if you are expecting PACs and such to raise tons of big bucks, they want some tangible proof that their money is being well spent. After all, if you are shrewd enuf to make enuf big bucks that you can afford to toss it into the polical arena, you want to be sure those taking it know how to make the most of it.
