Can we declare an entire bureaucracy clinically insane? Just a note most of you already considered: waiting for health care when something is wrong with you and every minute may count, is not at all like waiting for a ride at Disneyland. With one, a wait can hasten your death, with the other, not so much.

If you want to know what Single Payer looks like, this is it.

Via Washington Examiner.

Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald on Monday compared the length of time veterans wait to receive health care at the VA to the length of time people wait for rides at Disneyland, and said his agency shouldn’t use wait times as a measure of success because Disney doesn’t either.

“When you got to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? Or what’s important? What’s important is, what’s your satisfaction with the experience?” McDonald said Monday during a Christian Science Monitor breakfast with reporters. “And what I would like to move to, eventually, is that kind of measure.”

McDonald’s comments angered House Speaker Paul Ryan, who tweeted out Monday afternoon, “This is not make-believe, Mr. Secretary. Veterans have died waiting in those lines.”

[McDonald] He said he did not believe a measure called the “create date,” which gauges a veteran’s wait time by counting from the day the veteran first requests care, was a “valid measure” of a veteran’s VA experience.

The Government Accountability Office released a report in April exploring the metric used to count a veterans’ wait time, called the “preferred date.” The measure does not count from the time a veteran first calls to make an appointment.

Lunatics, each and every one of them. Can we just bring back tar and feathers??

Yes, agreed, waiting for a doctor’s appointment is not the same as waiting for a ride at Disney.

But watching the Obama regime loons is like watching a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Oh wait, I just insulted Bugs 🙁

Let’s, for the record, note that this Major Pissant McDonald was hired because he was the retired Chairman, President and CEO of Procter and Gamble and really was a great businessman, blah, blah, blah. His statements prove beyond any doubt to any sane, reasonable, person that he’s been infected by the fatal disease of the Washington Bureaucracy, the 4th Branch of Government and Action Army of the Democratic Party in less than two years.

Note: On July 23, 2014, the United States Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs voted unanimously to forward McDonald’s nomination to the full Senate. On July 29, 2014, the Senate confirmed McDonald in a 97-0 vote.

If I was in charge, I’d go to every single U.S.Senator’s office on the Committee on Veteran’s Affairs and ask for a formal response to this Pissant’s comments. And I guarantee you that everyone of them would be hiding under their desks because…(fill in the blank)

If I were him, I’d have a daily morning, including Saturdays, video conference call with all the regional heads of the VA. This isn’t a ‘customer service’ problem, it’s life or death.

McDonalds perspective on VA wait time is insulting & ignorant ! What’s his next brilliant idea … VIP passes fo VA patients ? Just like TSA selling easy check passes ? These people are blunded by there own cushy life bubbles & have no clue the reality of an average Americans life . They also are clueless to the fact that the majority of Americans do not luve as victims but work hard & compensate day after day to live a life of purpose despite the Govt failings . This would be even more so with our Vers !

Did this clown ever spend a day in uniform and I don’t mean at McDonald’s? To compare waiting for a Dr appointment with waiting in line to ride It’s a Small World is’t quite the same. Ovomit is 0 for 2 when it comes to VA chiefs. The last one was canned because he was more concerned with getting renewable energy programs for the VA than he was with the veterans themselves. Here is a hint for the next VA director; they call it The VETERANS ADMINISTRATION for a reason. He must have eaten paint chips as a child to say something that callous and not understand what it would cause.

This jerks remark sounds like something from a Six Sigma or Lean convention. I agree you need to measure the right things but waiting time for a doctor appointment is the right thing to measure especially if it is critical. This is exhibit A for how far removed the government is from the people it is suppose to serve.

And in other VA ‘management improvement’ news; The retired from the Army General who worked to cover up that Pat Tillman’s death was a friendly fire incident has just inappropriately been made VA Deputy Chief of Staff. Excellent article. It doesn’t mention VA Secy involvement (which I think is a good thing to protect article against accusations) but he had to be aware and go along with decision.
