Remember when CNN promoted Obama’s SOTU address as “President Obama in John Boehner’s House” ?
Yeah, neither does anyone else.
And when Nan and Chucky met with President Trump in the WH last month, CNN did not call the meeting “Nancy in President Trump’s House,” which, technically, it was.
CNN promoted its coverage of Tuesday’s State of the Union address by describing it as “President Trump in Nancy Pelosi’s house.”
The language gave it the appearance of a sporting event rather than a solemn address by the president of the United States before a joint session of Congress. The promo also appeared to be playing up the rivalry between the two political leaders now that Pelosi’s Democrats have taken the House majority.
While the State of the Union address is given in the House Chamber and Pelosi (D., Calif.) is the speaker, the House of Representatives is more frequently referred to as the “People’s House.”….
