A Special Thank You To All Subscribers, aka Tammy Army Members
by Tammy on October 3, 2011As we head into another week I was just reflecting on how lucky I am that I get to look forward to my work on Tammy Radio, the blog and my additional writing. All of this is due to the generosity of you TAMs–Tammy Army Members–for being so generous to support this work with your subscriptions. I know times are tough to say the least, and the fact that you carve out a bit each month means more to me than I can say. I also so enjoy watching the TAM Community expand. As I mention often on Tammy Radio, it’s this sort of Fellowship that will help us through whatever the next 14 months (and beyond) brings us. It’s...

Former first lady Betty Ford dies at the age of 93
by Tammy on July 8, 2011A remarkable woman who turned who own troubles into a life saving venture for so many others. May she rest in peace. Former first lady Betty Ford dead at 93 She had been a soccer mom to four children, a professional dancer, a congressional wife and a model. But Betty Ford will be forever linked to the work she did after the White House, when she moved to Rancho Mirage, Calif., with her late husband, former President Gerald R. Ford, and changed national attitudes about addiction. “She made a great impact as a first lady,” said Henry Kissinger, Gerald Ford’s secretary of state. “But I think she made a greater one afterwards. She maintained her commitments. She created the Betty...

Arizona Smart Girls Leading The Way
by Artgal on April 8, 2011Since May of 2009, Jennifer Leslie has organized monthly meet and greets to help spread the word about Smart Girl Politics in Arizona and introduced the public to new candidates. She has given a forum to everyone from state officials to town council candidates and was very instrumental in introducing Ruth McClung and Jesse Kelly when they announced their respective congressional campaigns in May of 2009 – the very first Tucson meet and greet. After the primaries of 2010, Leslie began focusing on outreach beyond meeting candidates. She began providing empowerment sources for members. In September, a self-defense meet and greet with Michael Francis, owner of Tucson’s L.O.S.T. (Last One Standing Tactics), a personal protection company, was offered. In November 2010, Smart Girl Politics became the first...

Reflections From A Free Spirit in The Wild Southwest
by Artgal on April 5, 2011A free spirit. That is how my mother always describes me; therefore, it is only fitting I would live in a state that is the embodiment of the free spirit in every possible way. Apparently, I am in good company in The Old Pueblo and as news unfolds in Arizona (as expected), it will be my pleasure to introduce to you those I am honored to stand with on the frontlines in The New American Revolution. Arizona became a state on Valentine’s Day in 1912 after many tumultuous years surrounded by war and changing territorial claims. For three hundred years, Arizona was claimed by the Spanish who, in fact, named some of the earliest, most prominent regions – like Tucson. After Mexico declared its independence from Spain in...

Earth Hour: The Left’s Stone Age Celebration
by Tammy on March 26, 2011**Bumped up from last year because it’s happening again tonight, and it’s still amazingly stupid. Some content has been updated** Every year it rolls around, tonight at 830pm wherever you are, it’s “Earth Hour” when the left, hippies and various poor souls who are intimidated by human accomplishment ask that everyone turn off their lights for an hour. It’s a request that perfectly illustrates the Left’s ultimate orgiastic hope–to throw the scourge of humanity back into the Dark Ages, literally. And just like how buying a Red iPod will do nothing to stop the continuing massacre in Darfur, cities turning off monument spotlights for an hour won’t do a damn thing about “the environment.” The silly, rank ignorance and hypocrisy...

Not the ‘Jetsons’ Flying Car, But Close Enough?
by Tammy on January 23, 2011I still want my flying car. I really don’t think this will do. New Autogyro Is An Alternative to Flying Cars Never mind the flying car. It’s all about slowed-rotor/compound, according to Carter Aviation Technologies. SR/C is what the Texas company considers the key to a practical, personal transportation aircraft. And from the looks of its new, second-generation aircraft, Carter might be on to something. The company’s latest flight test aircraft is a proof-of-concept version of a four-seat autogyro capable of vertical takeoff and landing. Carter has been flight-testing the aircraft and earlier this month completed a 36 minute flight, its longest yet. In addition to the size, the new aircraft reduces pilot workload by using automated systems and computer...

The Antikythera Mechanism — A Matter of Time
by Pat_S on December 24, 2010A post by Pat Around 150 B.C., a Roman merchant ship sank off the coast of the Greek island Antikythera. Were it not for a storm at sea two thousand years later, we may never have discovered one of the greatest scientific achievements of the ancient world. In October, 1900, a team of sponge divers discovered the shipwreck while lingering off the coast of Antikythera for shelter. The salvage operation took about two years. It would take 100 years for modern science to understand the purpose of the machine and how it worked. Even then there was skepticism. We couldn’t believe it was possible for the Ancients to make such an exquisite machine.

With Culture Like This Who Needs Hell?
by Tammy on August 9, 2010Here’s an update on events surrounding the Islamist “cultural center” and mosque set for the Ground Zero. The center is hyped a “bridge builder” to help all the poor, infidel Americans understand how Islam is not to be feared, but embraced. You know, like how you embrace Female Genital Mutilation, beheadings, and child brides. (via BigFurHat, of course) Well, let all Islamists know, we have received the message and are indeed committed to building bridges and encouraging tolerance. This is why I am excited to fully support Greg Gutfield’s plan to build and open a gay bar which caters to gay Muslims right next to the tolerant Mega Mosque. MONDAY’S GREGALOGUE: MY NEW GAY BAR So, the Muslim investors championing...

British Tea Party Movement Launches on Saturday
by Tammy on February 25, 2010As Sleeps-with-a-Kennedy-every-night Schwarzeneggar noted, the Tea Party Movement is “not going anywhere”. Oh, except international 🙂 This is nice to know on this side of the pond as our cousins on the other side have been dealing with socialist despotism for far too long. The only reason the British government hasn’t collapsed at this point is because of Margaret Thatcher‘s economic reforms. The good people in England now ready to fight no doubt know they owe this extra time to Lady Thatcher. British Tea Party Movement to launch on Saturday The inaugural British Tea Party will take place on Saturday in my home town of Brighton, and I’ll be speaking. Do try to come: here are the details. Labour has...

Sixth Sense Technology
by Pat_S on November 28, 2009A Post by Pat This is amazing technology. Using components that cost around $350, Sixth Sense technology changes the way humans interact between the real world and the cyber world using hand gestures. Unlike the famous Minority Report display, images can be projected on any surface anywhere. Wearing a Sixth Sense device you can retrieve data about an object, use any flat surface to project a movie or play a video game, take text from a document and “pinch” it over into your computer, and much more. You can even take pictures by simply framing an area with thumb and index fingers. As the inventor, Pranav Mistry says, “The imagination is the only limit.” Not this Christmas, but I wouldn’t...

To Our Veterans—Thank You for Your Service
by Pat_S on November 11, 2009A post by Pat To all veterans who honored their uniform we owe an enormous debt of gratitude. Their courage humbles and inspires us. We will never forget their sacrifices. It is our duty to stand by them as faithfully as they stood up for us. A Marine who was wounded and disfigured in Iraq gives advice in the aftermath of the Fort Hood shootings: Stay strong and take the battles on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes we find ourselves kind of caught up in the long run. Of course we have our objectives and missions, but…remember who we are as Americans and our history and our legacy. We celebrated 234 years in the Marine Corps. That’s something that we can...

John McCain brings up Founding Fathers, Daniel Webster and Reagan to criticize Obama
by Pat_S on June 21, 2009A post by Pat John McCain appeared on Face the Nation today. He spoke of America's historical moral obligation to condemn the Iranian government and support the Iranian demonstrators. Three cheers for McCain. He readily admits there is little else...

Susan Boyle Lost To “Diversity,” A Boy Dance Troup
by Tammy on May 30, 2009Susan came in second on tonight's "Britain's Got Talent" finale. Just one more sign of how liberal attitudes and political correctness is a flagstone of mediocrity, compromise, and ultimately, failure. Susan will be fine; just like Adam Lambert she has...
