New Column: Why Tea Party Women Lead the Charge
by Tammy on October 20, 2010**Bumped up as today as I wanted to thank Real Clear Politics for listing my piece in their Wednesday morning linkage lineup 🙂 Fox Nation also has a link through, and welcome Hot Air readers. Thanks! ** I’m pleased to announce that you’ll be seeing regular commentary from me at The Guardian newspaper online. My first piece “Why Tea Party Women Lead the Charge” has just hit and it would be great if you could take a look and spread the word. The Guardian is a British national daily newspaper and as many of you may know is considered left of center when it comes to its politics. I think you may get a sense of that reading the comments...

Weekend Schedule
by Tammy on October 8, 2010As you know by now I’m leaving today for Arizona Tea Party Saturday! Heading to the airport shortly, as a result today’s Tammy Radio will be a “Best Of.” We are in final prep for our fill-ins who have been more than patient with me, but they are ready to roll once Chris gets them set up with the Tammy radio requirements. Saturday will be jam-packed, with Tucson Tea Party in the morning and then right off to Scottsdale for the Tea Party dinner fundraiser. I’ll be home on Sunday and then you will have the “Palin Report” and the “Weekend Update” hours. Chris will be with me in Arizona so you will get tweets and posts and pics. Thank...

Join Me at the 9/12 Tea Party Rally in Sacramento!
by Tammy on September 11, 2010**Update 9/12: The rally has been incredible! The crowd was fantastic and I was thrilled to be able to meet some TAMs. I met the TAMs, however, by accident. That’s totally unacceptable so from now on, we have to set up a special TAM Meet-up when we’re going to an event. I’ll work on that, but really, I know more TAMs were there that I didn’t meet , but things went really well. I’l be posting pics soon.** **Bumped up!** Just a heads up–I’ll be speaking at the 9/12 Tea Party Patriots Western Regional Rally! Please make a plan to join us. I hope to see you there!

Michigan Fake Tea Party Loses Ballot Spot
by Pat_S on September 3, 2010A post by Pat As elsewhere, the Democrats in Michigan tried to pull a fast one by organizing a bogus political party hijacking the Tea Party identity. They were dumped off the ballot by the Michigan Supreme Court in a 5-2 vote. In July, a 2-2 vote on the Board of Canvassers allowed “The Tea Party” to appear on the ballot. The bogus group, organized and populated by Democrats, held their nominating convention in July. An attorney for “The Tea Party” said the convention was attended by 10-15 people who nominated 23 candidates. Most of the candidates are running in districts where incumbent Democrats are in close races. The 60,000 petition signatures to place the party on the ballot were...

NYT Issues Correction About Claims of Tea Party Racism
by Tammy on August 3, 2010**Update: I originally used the word “retraction” in the title for this post. I’ve changed it to reflect Andrew’s descriptive of “correction” which does seem more accurate considering how and where it was placed in their article.** Tea Party Patriots everywhere owe Andrew Breitbart a big Thank You. He responds to the curious retreat of the NYT. I Got My Correction Thanks to the The New York Times — Now Who’s Next? Buried at the bottom of a story published the other day, the New York Times printed a curious little correction: The Political Times column last Sunday, about a generational divide over racial attitudes, erroneously linked one example of a racially charged statement to the Tea Party movement. While...

Si Se Puede! Arizona Boycotts Failing
by Tammy on July 28, 2010This is especially sweet news as we await the judge’s decision (expected today) regarding Arizona’s SB 1070, the new law scheduled to go live on Thursday. Besides the moral victory, the failure of the boycotts sends a supportive message to every other state that has signaled interest in legislation similar to Arizona’s. Keep in mind as you read this story–the boycotts not only have failed–but have had the opposite impact as we launched our commitment of support for Arizona–hotels, tourism in general and revenue for the state have all increased during the past two months. Sweet, and congratulations Patriots! Arizona Hotels Thriving Despite Boycotts Over Immigration Law Arizona’s tourism industry has a target on its back, but the widespread boycotts...

Sharron Angle: A Test of the Tea Party
by Maynard on July 18, 2010A post by Maynard Sharron Angle is the Republican challenger to Nevada senator and majority leader Harry Reid. In the primary election, she beat out two better-known and better-funded Republicans. With so many Americans disillusioned with both parties, the Nevada race has become an interesting one. Unlike other contests which pit party stooges against each other, in this case there is a true contrast. So who is Sharron Angle? This WSJ article is worth reading. The Democrats try to dismiss her with the usual magic bullets. She’s extreme, she’s off the map, she’s a loon. They don’t want voters to seriously consider the possibility that Angle is capable of representing the state. Liberal groups and Mr. Reid are gleeful that...

The Tea Party As “Anti-Cult”
by Tammy on June 6, 2010Your Must-Read for this beautiful Sunday. A very good analysis of the Tea Party movement by William Voegeli at the Claremont Institute. Read the whole thing, of course, but here’s a snippet to whet your appetite 😉 The Meaning of the Tea Party The Tea Party movement caught fire one month after Barack Obama’s inauguration. It is, in part, a reaction to the Obama presidential campaign and its accompanying cult of personality. It is also a reaction to the Obama Administration’s effort to keep the financial crisis from going to waste by using it to enact an agenda of “shock and awe statism,” to borrow a phrase from Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana. There are clear signs, though, that the...

Video: Tea Party Campaign of Japan
by Tammy on May 31, 2010Woo hoo! Brought to us by Nativevoice in Comments, here’s a Citizen Reporter bringing us the Japanese version of a Tea Party rally and demonstration. Stay with it–while the rally and such is in Japanese, the Citizen Reporter is a young woman who keeps us filled in, and there are lots of American flags 🙂 I love the part where we’re told demonstrators are only allowed to shout at the Prime Minister once, but when they do it’s good! Look for my favorite sign once they get to their Federal Building: “Crazy Prime Minister–FXXK Off!” LOL! Unfortunately, the video does start automatically, so to stop it just click the pause on the player. Tea Party Campaign of Japan [I removed...
