For anyone still concerned or confused about Sarah Palin’s intentions, especially if you think she is retreating from serving our nation in the political sphere, please read her 4th of July statement. I think it makes quite clear what her intentions are.

Happy 4th of July from Alaska!

…If I may, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the last 24 hours and share my thoughts with you. First, I want to thank you for your support and hard work on the values we share. Those values led me to the decision my family and I made. Yesterday, my family and I announced a decision that is in Alaska’s best interest and it always feels good to do what is right. We have accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two – and I am proud of the great team that helped to build these wonderful successes. Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have been my priorities and will remain my priorities…

I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness! God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference – with you!

This is not a statement from a woman who intends on moving into obscurity. Her statement is clear–her priorities are now national, and she’s asking us to join her. And it’s not just for lunch to chat about what might have been 😉

I’d like to thank George Soros and the partisan press for paying the expenses of vetting Sarah Palin.

I trust Sarah, because she trusts God. I am sick and tired of all the liberal, left-wing, Christian-hating people acting like this country wasn’t founded on those principles. Hey Libs–if you don’t like the country that God guaranteed us the freedom to enjoy, go to Cuba or Russia or N. Korea, or anywhere else! GOOD RIDDANCE.

‘Cause I say: YES , Sarah,I WILL BE THERE and I will bring my own wallet.

I was surprised like everyone else on Friday by her announcement. But it seemed clear to me that she is putting her state and her family ahead of her own desire to remain as governor. She said the decision was “unconventional and uncomfortable.” I think she prayed about this, and is following what she believes to be God’s guidance. I think she believes that she is leaving the state in capable hands, that it will save state resources to rid itself of the expense of fighting bogus ethics charges, and she must get her own family out of debt for her children’s sake.

I too think that she is not stepping away, and is preparing to serve her country in a much larger way. I don’t think of her resignation as quitting, but as the smart and responsible move to take away a target which cost Alaska valuable time and money. I don’t believe that she thinks for one minute that the attacks on her will now stop, but now, they won’t cost the state of Alaska anything. Nor do I think that she stepped down because she herself couldn’t take the attacks.

I support her and can’t wait to see what she does in the coming months.

Tammy, you have hit the nail on the head when you say that all of those who are on TV suggesting what Sarah should do next, are speaking of the way things Used to be.
Now that Urkel has tried to take the incidious pregressive movement all the way to his own little monarchy, he has woke up the calvary.
Things as usual over the last 80 years or so is what has brought us to this point in history.
It’s now back to the way the founding fathers layed out.
We the people, decide. And we the people are drafting Sarah to lead us as the exceptional americans that the rest of the world longs for.
We the people are the checks and balances not only here but rather the whole world.
With that said, the greatest accomplishment of Barrack Obama is that he will be remembered as “The One” that proved what our founding fathers warned us of.
We will Never go to sleep again.

Tammy I agree – this gal isn’t going anywhere (at least I hope not). She is dynamic and I believe honest, God loving and God fearing American. I’m with her all the way. I believe she can unite the Republicans (If her plans are to remain a Republican), or she start a third party. I hope she realizes there are a bunch of us out here waiting to support her.

  7. Sarah, nothing personal but you quit your job before the job was done. It was an important job that we hired you to do as Governor of Alaska but you failed to complete the job. We cannot hire anybody in our firm who cannot complete the job that we hired them to do. Please understand our position, we need someone who will be able to finish the term whatever the outcome.

We wish you the best of luck in your new career and we will give you our best recommendation outside of politics.

Your only real recourse is to not vote for her for Governor of Alaska. She , herself, is going to vote for Lt . Gov. Parnell as the next Governor in Alaska.
You are in a fix when you try to fire someone who has quit.

After watching her press conference and reading the above, I have also concluded (although none of us can be 100%) that she is looking towards the national stage.

She was getting bogged down in all the flak in Alaska and I think she was already looking forward to running nationally and knew she wasn’t going to run again and figured she might as well step down sooner as later.

She certainly didn’t sound like a “quitter” to me!

Of course some dolt on CBS said her statement was “confusing” – yeah, confusing to them because they are as dumb as a box of rocks.

I am behind her all the way. If she puts together a campaign, I’m volunteering IMMEDIATELY if not sooner.

Though I do believe that unless she can miraculously become 100% ready for 2012, she should wait until 2016. That’s just MHO, of course.

as someone who comes from a state where several of our esteemed- cough hack- representatives spent a good deal of their time running for president rather than doing the jobs they were voted in to do, i think it’s a good thing politicians ,if they are going to run for national office, do the honest and right thing and resign.
i especially loathe when they roll into a state they don’t currently reside in and get elected to some state office as a pathway to their perceived national stardom- like the voters are too stupid to notice they’re being used. or maybe we’re just used to it as SOP.

  10. JackOfClubs says:

I’m inclined to give Sarah the benefit of the doubt that she means well. However, withdrawing from a position to which she was duly elected, without the prospect of another office in view, is not the way great leaders behave. I hope whatever plans she is hinting at turn out to be beneficial to the conservative branch of the republican party. But I would like to point oout that we already have plenty of cheerleaders. What we need is a quarterback.

  11. mpresley says:

I am very surprised at many on the conservative side who are so wishful in thinking Palin represents some kind of authentic political future. Can’t you see that she has shown both a lack of sound judgment and some rather questionable but peculiar behavior over the past year? Perhaps my judgment is amiss, but there is something uncanny, and not completely sound with this woman. Something in all of this just doesn’t add up. I’d suggest that we on the conservative side merely wish her and her family well, and then walk away from her politically.

Tammy: I just joined the United States of Tammy. Because of your radio show time, I am excited to be able to get podcasts. I finally learned how to use my IPOD to listen to your show — after having it for a year! My take is HERE:

Upon reflection, and a good cup of Mystic Monk coffee, I have decided I don’t give a rat’s-rear-end if Sarah Palin returns to politics again. As someone who admires her stances and her style, if she simply goes after and legally punishes the criminal media entities that have vilified and harassed her family, I will be content if she chooses to remain a private citizen. Frankly, I think it will serve all of us who believe in small government and capitalism well — since the elite news corps will have to rethink their attack-dog approach for candidates whose only flaw is that they are not “progressives”.

  14. chipclemmer says:

Personally, I don’t think that Sara Palin is not going to run for president. However, I think that by returning to civilian life she can accomplish a couple of things. First of all, she’s a hot commodity among republican organizations. She can easily command six figure speaking fees. That, along with the money that is raised from her legal defense fund, should render her legal bills null and void in very little time. It’s too bad that the people of Alaska can’t also go after the moonbats that advanced the bogus ethical violation charges for the money that the state of Alaska had to spend investigating them. It’s also too bad that the Palins can’t sue the living s%$t out of the lefties that advanced those bogus charges.

Along the same line, I read that there was a blogger on the Huffington Post that claimed that Sarah Palin was under FBI investigation. The FBI issued a statement that said that she wasn’t. I read a statement from the Palin’s attorney on the same site that mentioned the blogger, that anyone, or any news organization that issues false statements about the Palins will have to answer to those statements in a court of law. It’s about time. As we all know, every liberal has a lawyer. It’s time to fight fire with fire. Force them into court and use their favorite weapon to take them down.

This is also where I see Sarah Palin going. None of the rank and file members of the republican party has the spine to expose the the corruption and Marxism of the current administration and their handlers. They are scared to death. Palin is not scared. She took down the entrenched and corrupt Murkowski/Stevens political machine in Alaska. She has her sights on doing the same thing at the national level in order to save this great country from the impending Communist dictatorship that is forming right under our noses. I hope that she succeeds.

  15. 1elder1 says:

Did anyone else read the carefully constructed statement by Michael Steele ,the RNC chair?
Seems he said Sarah has been ruled out of 2012 presidential run. He thinks that she is going to work to campaign for the Republican’s chicken punks that he is offering us.

In the new Sarah Palin interviews with her fishing suit on she says she is going to be INDEPENDENT.
What Steele says does not make the news on the radio in her family’s salmon fishing boat. Sarah is anticipating the Rove- Morris-Steele egos by again saying she is INDEPENDENT. Poor boobs she is free of you and (ethics charges of )Celtic Diva and #shannymoore and THE MUDFLATS Blog and the ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS Polls and the KTUU TV Station and on and on… FREE FREE FREE AT LAST. Her lawyer will be taking calls from these Alaskan creeps. (=:

To say the least, Michael Steele will not be around for the 2012 campaign. So what you sayin’ Willis?

  16. Ginger says:

I was ecstatic when I heard about her resignation on Friday. I truly believe she is ready to embrace bigger things ahead, and I believe she has prayed about this and has peace about it. Her statement in reference to her political future, in effect “if I die, I die, so be it” says to me that she is ready for whatever lies ahead and she has peace about it. I’m trying not to get overly wrapped up in her (got totally disappointed by Hillary), but wow, this lady is talented, and she isn’t afraid to take a stand. She will be a very strong voice for our side, no matter what.

–but i really believe she is going to be our next President~!!! –okay, I’m wrapped up in her!!

  17. Sam Joe says:

I have so much respect for this woman. This is the American message that needs to get out.

  18. fiona1 says:

IIRC, Reagan got started by going around giving great speeches, which culminated in his giving THE speech at the ’64 RNC. Maybe this strategy is what Sarah has in mind?

  19. politisaurusrex.com says:

Tammy’s right. I don’t understand why so many in the media are “confused” about Palin’s intentions. She made it perfectly clear. Sarah declared war on the media. Give ’em hell, Sarah. We’ve got your back!
