I bet Jesus would declare a grown man having his teeth capped to be a very Metro-Sexually selfish act. Oh, and the Son of God would be appalled, too.

America is very, very bad. And when Jesus gets home you’re gonna get it! At least that’s what presidential candidate and perpetually outraged Metro-Sexual John Edwards thinks. Odd that he thinks so highly of himself that he believes he should be president, yet doesn’t have respect for anyone else. In fact, he has such contempt for the United States he has indeed declared that Jesus, the one and only Son of God, would be appalled at how bad and selfish and mean we are.

That’s pretty serious. I mean, who wants to disappoint the Creator? Another question for us Mortals is, Who actually would vote for a guy to be president who has such a low opinion of the country he is campaigning to lead? Certainly not me. Last time I checked, we preferred leaders who liked and respected us. But I suppose anyone who looked at November’s election could easily (and mistakenly) take away a message that we’re ready to be slapped around by people who don’t like us (i.e. the Dems versus everyone else). Thinking that, however, would be a mistake.

Edwards: Jesus Would Be ‘Appalled’ at U.S.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering, and that he believes children should have private time to pray at school.

Edwards, in an interview with the Web site Beliefnet.com, said Jesus would be most upset with the selfishness of Americans and the country’s willingness to go to war “when it’s not necessary.”

“I think that Jesus would be disappointed in our ignoring the plight of those around us who are suffering and our focus on our own selfish short-term needs,” Edwards told the site. “I think he would be appalled, actually.”

How strange that in John Edwards’ world spending billions of dollars and sacrificing thousands of lives to liberate 53 million strangers doesn’t count as compassionate generosity. Last time I checked, for the past six years we have been making up for ignoring the plight of the world from 1992-2000. We looked away from the Rwandan genocide, the Taliban rape of Afghanistan, and Saddam’s mass murder of over one million of his own citizens. But at least the Prez was getting some booty.

Speaking of what Jesus is thinking, Edwards should start reading up about his issue here. I bet Jesus would also be appalled by a certain self-righteous multi-millionaire who lectures other people about ‘selfish short-term needs’ who builds a $6 million dollar mansion for his small (but very busy!) family on 102 acres of land. Which also happens to be 25 times larger than any other house in the county.

Edwards Home County’s Largest

RALEIGH — Presidential candidate John Edwards and his family recently moved into what county tax officials say is the most valuable home in Orange County. The house, which includes a recreational building attached to the main living quarters, also is probably the largest in the county.

The rambling structure sits in the middle of a 102-acre estate on Old Greensboro Road west of Chapel Hill. The heavily wooded site and winding driveway ensure that the home is not visible from the road. “No Trespassing” signs discourage passersby from venturing past the gate.

Knight approved the building plans that showed the Edwards home totaling 28,200 square feet of connected space. The main house is 10,400 square feet and has two garages. The recreation building, a red, barn-like building containing 15,600 square feet, is connected to the house by a closed-in and roofed structure of varying widths and elevations that totals 2,200 square feet.

The main house is all on one level except for a 600-square-foot bedroom and bath area above the guest garage.

The recreation building contains a basketball court, a squash court, two stages, a bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms, swimming pool, a four-story tower, and a room designated “John’s Lounge.”

Yes, I think Jesus would be appalled, too. Perhaps Mr. Edwards should seek out a therapist who can explain to him the concept of “projection.” Once he’s done with that, he can then make Jesus less appalled at the selfish and make a little bit of a dent in his favorite “Two Americas” problem at the same time by calling Habitat for Humanity. They can then build 100 new one-acre homes on his massive property. Considering one acre equals 43,560 square feet, that would give 100 struggling families a home and property worthy of the American dream. Oh heck, let’s get crazy with unselfishness and build 200 new Habitat homes on John Edwards 102 acres!

The Edwardses then would have the personal pleasure of un-appalling Jesus (and the rest of us selfish bastards) by learning how to live on a measly two-acres of land (87,120 square feet to be exact) next to all the Little People who they were so afraid of before getting near them.

And this is the man who’s ‘incensed’ at his name being in the same sentence with the word ‘faggot’ when there are so many other worse words for him that are actually true.

My gripe with John Edwards is the parasitical way he got rich, leeching millions of dollars out of the health care system with bogus claims based on junk science. Edwards’ specialty was babies born with cerebral palsy, which make a very poignant image in front of a jury, but are really caused by genetics rather than malpractice. But never mind that, because there’s money to be got. It’s people like Edwards that ruin it for the rest of us, because that money had to come from somewhere (that is, out of all of our pockets); then he has the gall to stand up and pronounce himself the champion of the “little guy”. What a disgusting man. Some people fault George Bush for being born to wealth and privilege, but he couldn’t help that. Edwards is certainly responsible for his ill-gotten gains. And now he’s going to lecture the rest of us. Excuse me while I vomit.

Here’s an article about how Edwards made his money.

I am always confused by Democrats. First, they tell us that the Republican party is controlled by Christians, and that’s a bad thing. Then they tell us that we’re not Christian enough.

I wish they’d get the Marching Orders straight.

I bet Jesus would be appalled at a person who feels “uncomfortable with the use of the word Christain “
evoking and speaking for Him (Jesus)

Moral hypocrisy is the greatest moral offense there is, and Edwards specializes in it.

    – He makes millions defrauding hardworking doctors with malpractice lawsuits.
    Jesus would approve.

    – Out of his legit & illegitimate legal victories you know he took a disproportionate (most lawyers do) share of the proceeds, denying true victims their just award. Taking advantage of little people who could not otherwise afford legal services by imposing usurious contingency fees is John’s way of showing us he’s for the little people.
    Jesus wouldn’t be appalled.

    – In his lawsuits he defended the rights of injured fetuses during delivery – but wait, how can a fetus have any rights in the eyes of a pro-abortion liberal?
Jesus gives Edwards a gold star.

-He builds a mulit-million dollar mansion on a huge sprawling estate with his ill-gotten gains, but us lesser common folk are selfish.
    Jesus hi-5’s Edwards.

-He recruits Christian-hating bloggers to his campaign, stands by them and refuses to fire them, then suddenly becomes religiously concerned about the America he loves.
    Jesus would approve.

The guy’s a greasy used-car salesman selling us all a load of rabbit pellots. How anyone can believe a word he says is beyond me. And what’s so special about his limp, lifeless hair?

  5. Bachbone says:

Someone should suggest that Edwards look up what the Bible has to say about a rich person’s chances of getting into Heaven. Just Google “camel and the eye of a needle.”

  6. ic says:

Helpunderdog: Why do you lump a slippery weasel with us greasy used car salesmen? We are one of those hard working selfish little people who try their best to earn a living to support our families and retire comfortably without burdening our children or society. We are quite different from a weasel politician who amasses his fortunes by exploiting the little people, who wants to tax our hard earn money to fatten his cronies’ pockets, who lords over us with the votes he bought with our money. Helpunderdog, you owe us hard working greasy used car salesmen an apology.

Every time a liberal speaks, a puppy becomes constipated.

  8. artgal says:

Indeed, Edwards is projecting himself onto the rest of us. What a smarmy, arrogant f(rea)k!

And while he accuses us little icky people of ‘…ignoring the plight of those around us who are suffering…’ he’s busy exploiting the plight of the suffering for his own SELFISH purpose(s).

I have yet to see this idiot outside of a photo-op actually helping people on a long-term basis. How many crumbling, gang-filled schools does this f(rea)k enter everyday out of sheer love and concern for very real & angry kids, not knowing if his car will be in the lot after work? (Guess I was projecting a little bit there…) How many lives have been made better because he risked his own? How many have been healed through his vast knowledge of life-sustaining treatments? How many people will remember a sincere act of kindness on his part that made their day?

No – all we’ll remember is John Edwards telling us we’re just like him: a small, inadequate, selfish little maggot.
