We’ll be talking about tonight’s Democrat forum discussing so-called “gay and lesbian” issues. I say “so-called” because with things like “Hate Crimes” on the agenda, the last time I checked there were many gays and lesbians, such as myself, who do not want to be the architects of a Thought Police state. That is quite the opposite of what the Gay civil rights movement was all about.

In fact, the Stonewall Riots in New York began because government, via the police, wouldn’t stay out of our lives. Tonight’s forum, I’m afraid, will reflect leftist theory as opposed to genuine civil liberties, or any theory which recognizes that small, limited government, and out keeping and controlling our own money, are the only things that will keep us free. Those two theories, of course, are now considered “conservative” politics, anathema to today’s so-called gay leadership.

Melissa Etheridge will be part of the panel tonight for the candidate forum. She has said some good things in the past regarding her own concern about censorship and the emerging thought police tactics of the left. I’m hoping if anyone strikes a legitimate Classical Liberal chord, it may be her.

Hope you can tune in to H&C tonight.

Great presentation Tammy! One question I wish had been posed would be, “What would the media’s reaction be if the Log Cabin Republicans hosted a presidential debate?”
