Good for him. Support in England seems to be increasing. That might have a little something to do with that little fact that the Portuguese authorities have admitted having no concrete evidence implicating the McCanns in the disappearance of their daughter.

It’s time to boycott Portugal for the depraved belief that their tourist industry is more important the lives of the entire McCann family.

Branson helps missing UK girl’s parents

LONDON – Richard Branson, chairman of Virgin Group, pledged $200,000 on Sunday to help the British couple declared suspects in the disappearance of their young daughter to clear their name, a spokeswoman said.

Branson has also contacted several other wealthy Britons to encourage them to contribute to a legal defense fund for Kate and Gerry McCann, a spokeswoman said. The McCanns, both doctors, have been accused as suspects in the disappearance of Madeleine, who was 3 when she vanished during a family vacation in Portugal on May 3.

“If he can help a little bit to take the burden off the family and extended family in this small way, then that’s all to the good,” the spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with Virgin practice. Branson had already contributed to a $2 million fund set up to help find Madeleine.

Additionally, stories with details of the incompetence of the Portuguese police are also now being told. This investigation has been screwed up from the beginning, no doubt allowing key evidence to be lost. Accusing the McCanns is one more indication of the utter failure of the police to comprehend and solve this case. Outrageous.

  1. Branson was unknown to me until Glen Beck had him on for the entire hour last week.

He was impressing me–right up to the last minute. That is when he praised Al Gore and Jimmy Carter for helping him to solve the world’s problems.

  2. This must be only ‘part 2’ of a parent’s worst, worst nightmare: Being accused of infanticide based only upon conjecture, hypothesis.

I also doubt the “evidence” of a dog smelling Maddie’s blood in a rental car which was only rented by the McCanns 25 days after their daughter’s disappearance. Likewise, I wonder where the Portuguese police come up with a theory of Maddie being fed an overdose of sleeping tablets.

I pray for these parents- that their horrible fear is wrong, and that their daughter is found ALIVE, soon.
I pray for Maddie- that when she IS found, isn’t so traumatized.

IMHO, people who target children for any criminal act, are the very worst of humankind, and if/when convicted, must be exterminated.

If they’re poor these Portugese cops just beat the mothers of missing kids into confessing.

Maddie McCann cops in torture claim

THE senior detective jointly in charge of the investigation into the Madeleine McCann disappearance is to face a criminal hearing into an alleged cover-up involving another missing girl.

Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral has been accused of concealing evidence that the mother of eight-year-old Joana Cipriano, who disappeared in the Algarve three years ago, was tortured by police into confessing she had killed her daughter.

I am not convinced at all that the parents are innocent of this crime. SOMEBODY killed that baby !!
