Including a crack dealer (the first ever to be pardoned), a bunch of cocaine dealers, mail thieves, tax cheats and a whole host of other losers.

Not among the list are two men who are in prison simply for doing their job, which was, interestingly enough, stopping the very sort of people the president saw fit to pardon yesterday, and about whom appeals court judges have noted, in so many words, were prosecuted unfairly.

Those two men–Ramos and Compean–still sit in solitary confinement throughout the Christmas season. Another illustration of the utter moral failure of President Bush on so many fronts in the past few years.

Sometimes I wonder if G.W. Bush is really the Manchurian Candidate for the Left. Sometimes his liberal administration (and Bush despite being hated by the Left is a liberal, just because the Left hates you does not make you a Conservative, you can ask Joe Lieberman today or Richard Nixon or Lyndon Johnson if they were alive) makes me think it is a flippin’ lost Twilight Zone episode that Rod Serling never fully developed.

I am tired of trying to figure out which W we got ‘today’ the Pod person or the one I voted for..I will not give up the fight for these agents, however, I am giving up the fight defending this President. (Except in the war)

I don’t think that Bush will ever pardon Compean and Ramos.Remember,he considers people like them ‘vigilantes’. While I am looking forward to this coming election,I sometimes wonder if ANY of the candidates…Democrat or Republican…will stay true to the promises they make on the campaign trail. Or will they suddenly morph into a President who in no way resembles the one we voted for. Kinda makes the whole thing seem useless.

I’m amazed that GW doesn’t realize that he would gain support for his broken image and the other Republicans if he would have pardoned Ramos and Compean, it would have truly given them the shot in the arm that they need…how come the common people of this nation can see, (you don’t need to be a big thinker on this one) the right that should be done by letting these guys out, but the ‘Super Smart’ politians can’t?!!!

Any candidate that would admit that the entire trial of Ramos and Compean was wrong, the way they treated the drug dealer was wrong by letting him come back and forth across the border without being searched during the trial, and the sentence was and absoloute sham would get my vote…even Hillary.

We are judged by the company we keep and by pardoning the people he did and not Ramos and Campean, we know all we need to know about George W. Bush and what his priorities are.

    Disgusting.

  7. Marie says:

Kelly, you are right…have a look at who Bill Clinton pardoned…being reminded of that, I rescind my comment that I would even vote for Hillary, I went temporarily insane…

I get more disgusted with this president every single day. There is no excuse for Ramos and Compean to be held in a federal prison all this time or one day more. I really hoped they would receive pardons – in fact, I truly thought w/ the recent comments in the appeals court maybe something would shift in favor of these two innocent agents.

Unfortunately, the president is showing mercy to people who negatively impact other lives (to say the least) and will continue to do so while two innocent men continue to rot needlessly in prison, and their families left to suffer daily as well.

It has sort of become common practice to punish the innocent & law-abiding then grant freedom and riches to criminals by this administration, hasn’t it?

Getting GWB to grant a pardon or commutation is a fool’s erand. It should be very clear to everyone by now that GWB is the one who put Ramos and Compean in prison, and that Johnny Sutton prosecuted with GWB’s tacit approval if not direct orders.

GWB’s attitude toward the border is so bizzare that one has to wonder if there isn’t something else going on under the surface. Could there be a scandal from GWB’s party boy youth that the Mexican government is holding over him?
