Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Exodus 20:16

Tammy played a clip from Obama’s Florida fundraiser on her Saturday show.

“We know what kind of campaign [the Republicans are] going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

Obama was working the crowd, and he got a huge snicker on that last line. Yeah, I’m running against racists who appeal to racist voters, haw haw haw.

This is an absurd twist of words. Obama’s history at the forefront of his racist, hatemongering church exposes him as the candidate favored by the real racists. His track record, as brief as it is, is thoroughly tainted. He can’t explain this away, so he changes the subject by accusing the other guy of his own crime.

It seems the unfounded accusation of future white racism is a lot more damning than the actuality of present black racism.

Does everybody remember McCarthyism? That was during the era when America faced down the Communist block. And indeed there were Communists among us, not to mention a cadre of useful idiots. Sadly, the excesses of some opportunistic anti-Communists ultimately did more harm to the noble ideal of fighting Communism than it did to the Communists.

Today’s witch hunters pursue racists. And indeed there really are racists, just as there really were traitors and Communists. But the endless self-serving accusations of racism against innocent people merely serve to harass and intimidate and divide us.

Back in grade school, we learned of Cotton Mather and the Salem witch trials. You may have heard this poem:

Grim Cotton Mather
Was always seeing witches,
Daylight, moonlight,
They buzzed about his head,
Pinching him and plaguing him
With aches and pains and stitches,
Witches in his pulpit,
Witches by his bed.

Nowadays, nowadays,
We’d say that he was crazy,
But everyone believed him
In old Salem town
And nineteen people
Were hanged for Salem witches
Because of Cotton Mather
And his long, black gown.

Old Cotton Mather
Didn’t die happy.
He could preach and thunder,
He could fast and pray,
But men began to wonder
If there had been witches—
When he walked the streets
Men looked the other way.

Actually, my understanding is this is somewhat historically inaccurate, in that Mather wasn’t the driving force behind the hangings. (He wasn’t completely innocent either. I’ll let the historians work out the details.)

I hope I live to see the day when we see shun today’s witch hunters and lament their victims. There’s the audacity of my hope.

Senator, everyone noticed you’re black. Beside the fact it’s obvious, your race has been pointed out by you, your wife, the press and other supporters. Racists don’t need a slap on the head to remind them of their prejudice.

Racism is nothing to joke about and you know it, Senator. Your twittering amusement in smearing your political opposition is quite telling. This is old politics mudslinging.

By the way, are you still addicted to kiddie porn? ha ha

Ugh, and this guy’s supposed to be “Hope and Change”? I’ve had my reservations about McCain: he’s very far from perfect. But if we get Barry in the White House we are all SO screwed.

BHO’s apology speech in the aftermath of the Jeremiah Wright hate speech videos was all about slavery, in other words a perennial never ending victim hood. Blame white Americans for the troubles of those who refuse to search for there own bootstraps. Set up the scenario where whitey can be torn down and “his” power and money redistributed. Why? Because ex-slaves deserve it. Obama is clueless about expanding the pie for all Americans. He’s about getting a bigger piece for his constituency, the oppressed, and about redistributing past oppression onto the current population. There’s anger and greed just below that suave Ivy League surface. According to BHO slavery was to blame for Jeremiah Wright’s behavior therefor he finds it understandable and tolerable, made obvious by his 20 year standing endorsement.

BTW the ancestors of black Americans aren’t the only people on the planet whose ancestors were enslaved. What about hunting down current slave traders?

Black people can’t be racists any more than women can be sexists. Haven’t you been paying attention?!

I know this may seem a minor point; but BO is NOT black, he’s HALF black, but he has made the decision that he wants to be ALL black, thus OBAMA the electric, rather than boring Barry, thus Reverend Wright, thus Michelle, thus a cure for that nagging hole called the self, thus speeches like this one in FLA, where he needs to remind — who, himself? — that he is black. He needs to be all black, so he will make sure the rest of us remember this point. Because black, white whatever, Barry’s real skill is theater, but will this be like Icarus falling? Will he bring down everyone with him when he falls? I agree with Dave J, if B.O. ends up in the White House, we are all so screwed!

The MSM ups the criticism-equals-racism smear.

If Republican don’t fight back tooth and nail, they deserve to lose in November.

  7. Shawmut says:

At the time of the Revereand Wright issue came up, an associate suggested the “Race Card” might have been played. Duh?
I responded that it was played in the first hand dealt and would be an applicable ‘wild card’ drawn at will – no discard needed. Two jokers and fifty-two wild-cards held by one of them.

  8. MCB says:

McCain can be irritating at times, but as said above, if Obama gets in, we’re all screwed. If anyone is wondering if McCain is palatable, they should just imagine Obama in the White House.

  9. Rich B says:

So B.O. want’s to make color an issue. Okay. Here’s the problem. I’m Cherokee, Irish, and German. The Indian blood runs strong through my physical traits. I’m DARKER than you Barack Obama. I’m sick of Obama’s presuposition that anyone who doesn’t vote for him is a RACIST! Mr Obama, did you ever take into account the people who don’t vote for you are making that choice because you are UNQUALIFIED!

Now, if you want to make race an issue instead of color Obama here’s another fact. You are also half WHITE. So how are you gonna square that one? You are a phony B.O. You don’t belong in the White House because you are nothing but a series of well worded speeches. You have/will be nominated because you are a very good speaker.

  10. Rich B says:

Post Script: Never underestimate the power of White Guilt. That ugly little fact is the strongest thing working in your favor Barry.
