The Jindal Family

On the same day the NRO sings Jindal’s praises for the McCain veep slot (excellent points), Jindal says he’s not interested. I, too, think authentic conservatives like Jindal are the future of the Repub Party (if it ever wants to go back to being the party of Reagan), yet if McCain were to fail in his bid it would harm Jindal, to say nothing of losing Louisiana to a Democrat governor if Jindal left that post and ran with Juan. Jindal serves us, and the Repubs, better if he continues to save Louisiana and works on being our future. Near future.

Jindal Says He’s Not Interested in No. 2 Spot With McCain

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Wednesday he will not run for vice president on the GOP ticket, making him among a growing number of those pulling themselves out of the race.

Jindal’s comments come as speculation is swirling that John McCain might announce his running mate choice imminently, as a way to draw attention away from Barack Obama’s high-profile overseas trip.

The Louisiana governor told “FOX & Friends” that he’d be “surprised” if the McCain campaign came down with a decision this week. And he threw water on the buzz about his own chances.

“Let me be clear: I have said in every private and public conversation, I’ve got the job that I want. And I’ll say again on air: I’m not going to be the vice presidential nominee or vice president. I’m going to help Senator McCain get elected, as governor of Louisiana,” Jindal said.

I, too, believe Jindal will serve better as Governor in Lousiana than a veep. One of the arguments on the McCain camp is Obama’s lack of experience. Though Jindal has served in congress, he’s still young and new in the national political scene. He will definitely be a force in the near future, but Louisiana needs his leadership now.

I just hope to God Lindsey Graham is not the veep choice. I don’t think there are enough drinks available to make me vote for McCain if Graham is the veep choice.

Why would Jindal want to hitch his wagon to the Cranky Old Bastard anyway since he is everything that the C.O.B. is not? I am sure that Miss Lindsey Graham is the C.O.B.’s preferred VP choice. If Huckabee is the choice I really might want to slit my throat.

McCain and the boys tried to use speculation about Jindal and the VP position to draw attention away from BO’s middle east trip. However, Jindal didn’t like being treated and used like the average American rube voter. So Jindal put out a press release announcing that he’s not interested—as if McCain would have really chosen him. And McCain canceled the trip to Jindal’s territory because of the bad weather. It makes me think that this guy Jindal might be someone to watch. He doesn’t like being treated like two dollar whore. Neither do I.

Even if we won, Louisiana cannot afford to be handed over to the Landrieu clan again. I have no doubt–none at all–that Jindal WILL be president one day: for now, he is more needed in Baton Rouge than in Washington.

I’ve reconciled myself to voting for McCain just to ensure Obama gets nowhere near the White House. If it were Lindsay Graham or Huckabee I’d have to reconsider, but I don’t think it will be. I’m still hoping for Sarah Palin.
