I don’t know–do you think New York will survive? 🙂 This is a perfect thing for her to be doing, btw.

Sarah Palin to meet with foreign leaders at UN

Seeking to plug a gap in her resume, GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is scheduled to hold her first meetings with foreign leaders Tuesday and Wednesday in New York City as the United Nations General Assembly convenes.

Palin, the first-term Alaska governor who told ABC News she has never met a foreign head of state, is to meet with Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai and six other leaders, according to her campaign.

But she’ll also get a tutorial from Henry Kissinger — despite his differences with Republican presidential nominee John McCain over being open to negotiating with Iran — and will visit with Bono, the celebrity leader of the rock group U2.

McCain will arrive Wednesday at the UN for meetings, including some with Palin…”This is an opportunity for Sen. McCain to renew some acquaintances with important foreign leaders and for Gov. Palin to meet some of America’s key allies and world leaders,” said McCain campaign aide Rick Davis…Palin is also to meet with Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani; Pakistan’s new president, Asif Ali Zardari; and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

McCain and Palin are to meet with Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko, the leaders of two former Soviet satellites McCain would like to see in NATO, and with India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

I don’t recall the media describing Obama’s recent European whirlwind package tour as “seeking to plug gaps in his resume”.

    I hate the media.

As irrelevant as the UNGA is as ABC-123 I think Sarah is going to do just fine. Let’s see B. Hussein do the same thing without his Teleprompter. uh, uh , uh , uh ……

    Young American–

Barry doesn’t have to say anything, just show up. The world leaders will hoist him on their shoulders and carry him through cheering throngs of diplomats tossing rose petals.

My fantasy is that Sarah Palin shows up for the meeting with Henry Kissinger, reaches out to shake his hand and says “You are under a citizen’s arrest for crimes against humanity and the citizens of the United States of America.”

    I can dream.

    Pat_S,

Exactly, except instead of rose petals, arugula!
