If someone taped a $100 bill to each bank, you’d still have nothing.

  2. Shawmut says:

Do any of those banks conduct Sharia Compliant Financing? Because when China wants to unload our bad paper (Why not, we set the precedent?) there is only one place left to find CASH.
And, my friends, who do you think that is?

  3. Rod says:

I did not know that W was giving toasters away with his bailout, The first bank on the list -WaMU – was mine. It died last Fall – and I did not get my toaster! !@#$%~!
Maybe I should change my name to Fanny May?

  4. Fox says:

“And, my friends, who do you think that is?”

Ohh oh! I know! Who are the Tax Payers?

  5. Rich says:

  6. Shawmut says:

Pretty soon after being infantilized by it’s sponsee, The Kenyan Kid, the press might see some merit in re-visiting the adult world.
Even the Soviets, a highly propagandized government, learned that the continual production of disinformation was quite expensive.
They had to spend more on covering up thier lies than the originals were worth in the fist place.
The banks are like the “Humpty Dumpty” story.
If time and again we’re using up horses and men to put “Humpty Dumpty together again…and again..” Then let’s think about this.
How important, really, is Humpty Dumpty.

I am betting that if you buy 4 new tires you can get one of the big three for free!

A brilliant look at FDR, WW2, the failed economy and housing stimulus in 1990’s Japan, and what we should have learned from history… a must read:

    Too bad it’s too late.

  9. Larry says:

But the coupons have expired. 🙁

  10. RobK says:

The coupons are now good again. It took affect on inauguration day. Only now under Obama it’s “please take this damn toaster for free and bank too!”

  11. CinderellaMan says:

Off topic, but considering the drug wars just south of the border have resulted in a national emergency down there, do you think our elected representatives just might think about meaningful immigration regulation and control?

Just look at what’s happening at our doorstep, and please, explain to me why these people can and do cross our borders with impunity today:

  12. Lane Fricks says:

John Bolton is the best commentator on international affairs since Dick Cheney was on the campaign trail. He has been terrific lately in radio interviews.

  13. Fox says:

Our (read: someone else’s) elected representatives couldn’t sell sex in a bordello and you want them to DO something? Cinder, you should know better than to hope for change. They need those illegals to bloster their base in 2010.

What I can’t understand is why they won’t just hire out some private contractors and just erase them all together? Sure it’s dangerous and unethical but for the right price you can get the job done.

A bit off topic but topical nonetheless.
How many working people believe that increasing their Employer’s taxes will result in a pay raise in the foreseeable future?
How many believe that increasing their employers taxes will result in more hiring? What about layoffs? Pay cuts, not pleasant, but probably the best outcome.
