That’s an unlikely headline. With a Democrat in the White House, you see how the mainstream media immediately stops complaining about the effectiveness of the Federal bureaucracy. Remember the pounding that George Bush took when FEMA didn’t restore normalcy immediately?

Some pundits (such as this guy) have pointed out what we’re not hearing in the wake of the disastrous freeze. You have to look deep into the news reports to find the gripes.

Ice-battered Kentucky pleads for help from storm

…Local officials grew angrier at what they said was a lack of help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency…

At least 42 people have died in the icy arc of destruction that began in the Midwest…. Emergency Management Director Randell Smith…said FEMA was still a no-show days after the storm. “I’m not saying we can’t handle it,” Smith said. “We’re handling it. But it sure would have made life a lot easier.”

FEMA spokeswoman Mary Hudak said…”We have plenty of folks ready to go, but there are some limitations with roads closed and icy conditions.”

The FEMA response isn’t necessarily unreasonable. Local services are in a much better position than the remote Feds to provide short-term assistance. What is unreasonable is the endless double standard.

For the next 4 years, the MSM will only point out disasters in a way that suggest a bigger bureaucracy and more taxes and regulations will make for a more perfect union. But we won’t be hearing any of this “the president hates black/poor/female/whatever people” anymore. Everyone knows Obama loves us. If we hold him accountable for his failures and shortcomings, that just proves we’re ungrateful and unworthy of our new messiah.

Obviously, the media will not give Obama as hard a time as they gave Bush over Katrina, but as you said a situation like this is probably less of a job for the federal government than Katrina was.

If (Obama forbid) there’s another hurricane like Katrina, we’ll see if the media focuses on things like Hillary Clinton going shoe shopping.

But wait a second: I thought we were supposed to be worried about global WARMING. That’s what the left, the MSM and academia (but I repeat myself) keep saying, and I know they obviously only have my best interests at heart (just ask them). So how come it’s so cold I had to wear a jacket the past two days here in south Florida?

Oops! I guess Hillary was right, B.O. wasn’t ready on day one. He’s so caught up in policy wonkery, no one’s reminded him he also has the responsibility of protecting the nation from any threat, natural or otherwise. I thought this guy was supposed to be the ultimate multi-tasker.

First of all, no less than the world’s most renown expert, prize-winning and former next President Al Gore, instructs us that these major freezes “prove” global warming. And although he diplomatically spreads the blame on mankind in general, Mr. Gore’s evidence overwhelmingly shows that it’s the paler strains of humanity who have caused over 99% of the damage to our critically ill planet.
Thank Gaia we now have a man with the pectorals and jump shot to save mother Earth.
