The comparison is unfair to the real Marie Antoinette. She was arrogant and haughty only because she was a naive simpleton married to another naive simpleton: their parents, Maria Theresa and Louis XV, were masterful politicians who oddly had never prepared them to rule. What liberal Democrats miss is that that look on Michelle’s face is exactly how terrorists and other puny despot dictators view America; with that much anger, hatred and contempt.
I don’t think anyone will ever truly be able to answer, “what fuels such anger” and there are probably thousands of reasons beginning with what they are taught as children.
And really, the whys don’t matter except for curiosity. What’s important is exposing people with such deeply entrenched anger and hatred and stopping them from implementing their hate-filled agenda.
Without knowing them and judging only based on what’s been reported and what I’ve seen, the problem with Michelle and Urkel Uhbama is that they are used to people fawning all over them and never challenging them.
Truly great people don’t know they are great. On the other hand, those who repeatedly tell you how great they are, or how honest they are, or how patient they are, or how loving they are, etc., are masking their true selves behind a myriad of flowery words, platitudes and rhetoric. They are trying to convince you of something that most likely isn’t true BEFORE you have a chance to discover who they really are on your own. One of the best parts of getting to know someone is exactly that – discovering who they are for yourself versus them repeatedly TELLING you what you are supposed to believe about them, which usually ends up being the farthest from the truth.
When your life has become one huge maze of deceptions and lies, it’s no wonder these people are loaded with anger and hatred. It all boils down to fear. They have to remember all of the lies and deceptions they’ve spun; they can’t handle scrutiny and questioning; all of their movements, words and actions must be meticulously scripted and parsed, etc. One slip up and their false image crumbles leaving the truth of themselves exposed. It’s a lot of hard work to keep the illusions they’ve created from shattering.
It’s always easiest to just be who you are. In Michelle and Urkel Uhbama’s case, if they expose their true selves, I think they’d find that there aren’t too many people that actually like them, hence, the absolute NEED for illusions.
Shows the hate she’s filled her head with. But hey, she’s got $400 tennies. This administration is vendictive and will hamper any meaningful progress this country trys to achieve. Hide your money. The liberals are in town.
We’ve become like N. Korea. Brain washed robots. Time magazine believes if they keep telling us how great Obama is and beautiful she is, that hey, maybe we’ll all become numb and believe it? NOT!
It’s too bad they suckered in so many young people during the election. They got so caught up in the hype instrumented by the press.
I think I actually saw this happen while watching the ceremony. I noticed that throughout the entire thing, Carla Bruni just looked straight ahead or down towards the ground. (Many people do this while they are listening…I know I do.) So I think Michelle was trying ever so slightly to turn and get a look at her without catching Bruni’s attention. Of course it all could’ve been avoided if the Obama’s hadn’t stiffed the Sarkozys on their dinner invitation. (which I think was a petty retaliation for Sarkozy’s comments about Obama after their first meeting) I predict more ruffled feathers as time goes by.
My Dad, who had never seen Bruni before, said during Sarkozy’s speech, “Is that his wife? What a difference, you can really tell she has class.”

For the life of me, I cannot understand the anger and venom the Obamas have toward this country. Both of them benefited in a way many others can only dream of. Michelle recieved a Princeton education despite having come from rather humble beginnings. She became first, the wife of a Senator, then, First Lady. Before all of that she had a job where she recieved a salary of $300,000 per year. She has two lovely and healthy little girls and a husband that seems to love her. She should be happy and grateful for all of the blessings she has. Instead she is bitter and angry, and all of that spills out in most of her public speeches. What other country other than the US would award such opportunity to her? Could someone wiser than me explain her anger and vitriol?
