The greatly anticipated Oprah interview with Sarah Palin has just aired in the Eastern time zone. We heard a lot of advance info about it so there really aren’t any surprises. It was great to see Sarah again.

They talked about the McCain’s team handling of the pregnancy announcement, wardrobes and makeovers. Sarah says she never had a script to stay on and was not told about the campaign dropping out of Michigan.

Then there’s the infamous Couric question about reading materials. (ABC has blocked embedding) Sarah makes some poignant remarks about her and Todd’s reaction to the news of a Down Syndrome baby coming their way.

I can understand that Palin would have been annoyed at Couric’s question. There was a condescending insinuation in the very fact of asking such a question.

Palin says she does not feel to blame for losing. She wouldn’t expect credit had they won.

She speaks about aspiring porn star Levi. (For some reason this embedding is not blocked.)

Her marriage with Todd is very strong and based on equality. She says 2012 is not on the radar and dodges a question about getting a talk show by calling Oprah the queen.

I thought Oprah was aloof, but I’m not a regular viewer so maybe that’s the way she is to all her guests. I thought Sarah was a little tentative at first but settled into it. Maybe I was projecting my own feelings.

I stopped watching Oprah a long time ago. But today, I will be watching to see Sarah Palin. I hope Oprah’s ratings for this show go through the roof and they probably will. Regarding Oprah and her being aloof – I haven’t even seen the show yet (I’m on the Left Coast) but Tammy I would guess you are right on the money. Compare Oprah’s interview with Sarah to her interview with Obama…….

Sarah Palin is a class act – not so much for Opie. What was up with the overdone makeup and gold shoes? If you watched the promos of her upcoming shows with the “stars” she is not so “overdone”. I thought Oprah was suffering during this interview, trying very hard to appear fair. She showed an obvious bias against Sarah when she pressed the issue of her running for VP and having 5 children: her seemingly, complete disbelief that a husband could assume the primary caretaker role. This from a woman. With any other liberal Opie would have been yelling “Yes you can Girlfriend!” What happened to all that acting talent Oprah??? Your icy reception wasn’t well disguised and the grasping of Sarah’s hand when she came out to cut off the embrace said it all. To Sarah Palin, you did a great job and were the classy one in this interview with the “queen of talk”. [ Opie did look like a “queen”, don’t ya think : ) ]

I think that was just lethargy brought on by Oprah’s obesity.

Can’t wait to see or hear her on a venue where she can elaborate more on policy and the Obama administration.

FYI: ABC ran some of Barbra Walters’s interview of Palin. They mentioned the French President Phone call “Prank” on Palin. If I remember correctly, it was Nicole Wallace who gave Sarah the Phone & said it was Sarkozy. If I am right, and then it was setup.
