I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Amy Kremer, head of Tea Party Express, on a number of occasions and have been included in some of their Tea Party rallies. I respect her,  and she’s a smart, savvy woman. I also think I know what she’s doing here. At least I hope so. My initial reaction upon hearing her comments was, to put it mildly, surprise, but then I realized a few things. While I do agree that we *must* get rid of Obama (obviously), replacing him with Obama-lite will only mean that we’ve chosen a more comfortable, slower way to destroy the country and that we’ve given up on saving her. I do think Kremer’s remarks are not a statement that Romney is acceptable, but more a statement about how important it is to remove the maniac that’s in the White House right now.

Ultimately, however, there’s a problem with even the concept of Romney being the GOP nominee–the very existence of that situation means Tea Party as a national movement would have failed, ergo “supporting Romney” won’t make a difference anyway. As I’ve noted many times on Tammy Radio, if the Republicans choose an establishment candidate to be their nominee it means the establishment defeated Tea Party, and if that’s the case the incumbent, Obama, will win the general election. The 2012 election is The People versus The Establishment. This is the time and place for this revolution and if the Republicans reject it by nominating Romney of all people (or really any other establishment candidate), where do you think the rest of the country is willing to go? To that status quo, that’s where.

So, while Amy speaking for Tea Party Express says, sure, they’d support Romney, that won’t mean much at all if he’s the nominee, and I think she knows this.

When I heard her say that my 1st thought, hahahahaha not a chance, I won’t vote for him have you listened/watched him? It’s crazy/joke, the left will lose all the way under the democrats in my mind. We have to win, we have to win with an outsider, enough with prolonging the misery. I have faith in the American people to do the right thing.

Surprised is putting it mildly! I think my heart stopped for a moment when I read the headline. Now that I have a pulse again, I do agree with Kremer’s overall message. Who ever wins the GOP nomination will have to have the Tea Party support in order to win (but it’s going to be a hard sell IF the nominee is of the establishment). Kremer is also correct in the Republicans are loosing the message war. The Republicans have got to get out in front of this and control the message.

    BTW, awesome Palin Report!

Of course “we” will vote for a potted plant against BO… It goes without saying… The operative words are “without saying”.. Please shut up.. I give money to Express and it is just not becoming to admit you WOULD vote for Romney… Please use Tammy’s talking points.. Don’t show your hand.. Sometimes “WE” are not too smart and I bet we will hear these words thrown back at us..

Perhaps Amy Kremer is saying that the TP won’t support for a fake TP candidate being interjected into the race as a third party.

  8. LJZumpano says:

Sure we’ll vote for the GOP POTUS candidate and do everythng in our power to make sure that candidate is a small govt., fiscal conservative. My impression on seeing this was the perils of talking to the MSM. Unless you are thoroughly prepared, and know ahead of time what your answer will be to the questions MSM will ask, you are going to have slip-ups like this.
I would urge TEA spokepeople to be very careful when dealing with the MSM. They are not our friends, nor are they interested in getting information. They will bait and spin and try to get you into a contradiction, and never allow you the opportunity to fully explain.
In the coming months the MSM will try to find TEA leaders to provide “balance”, and will savage them. Today Chris Wallace did an interview with Gov Palin. He was pretty decent, and the Gov had been asked those same questions so many times, she knew what she was going to say before he completed his asking. You are not going to like the questions posed by MSM, but they will pose them. You need to know in your own mind how you want to respond. Better an answer that sounds like a tired talking point than one which can be taken out of context.
Every group should have designated spokespeople and they should be given special training to cover everything, from how to dress, how to look at the camera, facial expessions and, especially how to give a short pointed answer. It takes practice and now is the time to begin preparation.
Above all you must remember that when you speak with MSM, you are going into battle. They will charm you and smile, but in the end, they want to see you trip yourself up. Now would be a good time for everyone ro review some of Gov. Palin, and Michele Bachmann MSM appearances. Since both these women are aware that the MSM is “out to get them”, they’ve learned to handle their answers to questions quite well.
Never, ever go into an interview thinking it will be a breeze. It takes a special skill set to be on TV/radio. Don’t fool yourself into to thinking anyone can do it. And remember, thanks to technology, whatever you do will be around forever. Yeah, the whole process should scare the blank out of you, but in the end also remember, it will be hard for you to make a fatal mistake, and those who matter will catch your back and thank you for trying.

I hope that you are right Tammy. I cannot imagine the Tea Party ever falling in behind Romney. Kremer’s Romney statement seemed a bit nuts to me…

  10. dennisl59 says:

Listen up, Ms.Kremer. Mitt Romney is just another Scott Brown, only worse, because he’s running for President. Both from Massachusetts. Both are Liberal Republicans. And Brown voted with Collins and Snowe against the Ryan Plan in the US Senate recently, everyone remember that?

The “Tea Party Express”, in my opinion, is just a construct by Liberal Republicans looking to exploit, for influence and money, the disenchantment of the people fed up with the insane antics and policies of the DB in the White House who’s deliberately deconstructing America, bit by bit. I won’t send them one thin dime.

Finally, I will guarantee you, here and now, take it to the bank, that if Romney is the nominee, The White House will seek to ruin him by attacking, as their final resort, his religion as ‘radical’ because they have their very political lives at stake.

Politics is a Blood Sport; Only Palin has the natural instincts, and sheer nerve required to put the rabid socialists out of their misery and out of our lives, for good.

Actually, the FreedomWorks organization led by Dick Armey is leading an anti-Romney campaign as is the Western PAC which is led by Joe Miller. Dick Armey is an establishment guy who was banking on Mitch Daniels, but is now pushing for Paul Ryan.

  12. mrcannon says:

Hey, I’d vote for Romney, with the help of a barf bag and some pink liquid. However, it would be a nice change to actually be inspired to truly back up my candidate, to really believe in that person enough to display a yard sign, and to try to persuade others to vote the same as me. As it stands right now, Palin and Trump are the only ones speaking my language, and neither of them are officially seeking the nomination. I’m not sure how Tea Party Nation could possibly reconcile with Romney’s campaign, which clearly is more synchronous with the average Obama zombie.

  13. paul14 says:

Tea Party Nation is not the Tea Party. We are the Tea Party!
Tea Party Nation, has never really supported Sarah Palin!

  14. Mutnodjmet says:

I think Kremer could have answered the question far better than she did. I am a coordinator for a large Tea Party group in San Diego; none of the people I work with want Romney. Support for him will not automatically be given by these members; so, as a group, I could not say our Tea Party will definitely support Romney should he prevail. A lot will depend on what happens during the campaign, debates, and during the inevitable “Black Swan” situation that tends to occur in October/November of the election year. What I can say is that if Romney prevails, a lot of our group’s energies, resources, and monies will be going to congressional and senate races to get the most conservative set we can put in place to greet the President — no matter who he is.

  15. sanmaz says:

So she says the Tea Party will support Roomney, who is she representing, not the millions of people that are the tea party. Let her support him, see how far that goes. What an idiot.

  16. Dragon Lady says:

I think Ms Kremer should be interviewed by Tammy, and then we’ll get the REAL story about the “Tea Party support for Mittens”. (unbelievable!)

She certainly doesn’t speak for me and the other Tea Partiers I know.

Ms Kremer has let (supposed) leadership go to her head, just like the politicians that sway in the wind of the crowd in front of them. AND, we’re 17 months away from the election. Is she another “stalking horse” perhaps?

BTW, where do the donations to her group end up? Just a thought……

Maybe Piper should be the spokesperson for the Tea Party, since she seems to have more sense and intestinal fortitude than Ms Kremer has at this point.

  17. makeshifty says:

We’ve been seeing indications of this for a few months now. Tammy mentioned that one of the Tea Party organizations had invited Tim Pawlenty to speak a while back, but not Sarah Palin.

I was struck when I tried to watch Michele Bachmann’s Tea Party response to Obama’s State of the Union address over at the Tea Party Express web site. It was the first time I had gone there. I didn’t get her video, but I saw a live feed of this boring policy wonk discussion about public education, and how it should be funded and managed. It reminded me of the kind of “We’ve got to get out there and do something” talk I see from politicians and interested parties on C-SPAN on this topic that doesn’t seem to be very constructive. It feels more like managing the problem, “living with the disease,” rather than realizing that there can be a cure for it by returning to some basic principles, which educators know about. I got the distinct impression that Tea Party Express was an organization of professional bureaucrats and lawyers that had a mindset that was not that different from the people who are creating our problems in the first place, thinking that they know best, and should direct what happens in our country. That may not be accurate, but that was my impression. It sure didn’t inspire me to join them.

I just watched the video, and to me Kremer didn’t sound confident, calm, and collected. There’s a sense of desperation with her, “We’ve got to get rid of Barack Obama.” I agree with that, but what’s the point of replacing Obama the black man with Obama the white man (Romney)? That’s what she’s missing. I think Romney would be more competent than Obama in the job of “presidenting.” The problem is he’d also be more competent in carrying out and continuing his policies! I don’t want that, but it seems that that’s what “half a loaf” would be for her. No, that is not good enough! The Republican Party has been trying to say that Barack Obama is the problem. That’s true on the surface. The real problem also exists in the Republican Party. We got a taste of what will happen if we don’t reverse course when Obamacare was passed. The Tea Party needs to hold the line and say, “This will not stand!” The Tea Party needs to have a conversation with the rest of the Republican Party and say, “Look. You had *better* nominate somebody good. We’ll try our best to help with that, but you need to buy in, too, or else Obama’s getting re-elected. And we don’t mean that you’ll lose despite our support. We mean that you’ll lose because you *won’t* have our support!” That doesn’t mean that the Tea Party has to support a third party candidate. It would just mean the Republican Party had failed in the presidential campaign, and they haven’t felt enough political pain yet to change. From what I see here, the people in the Tea Party have a thick skin, but I think the Tea Party Express needs to grow more of a spine. They can’t come pleading to the Republican Party hat in hand, “Please, get rid of Obama!” That’s not going to get them anywhere.

I know that the Tea Party cares that Obama not be re-elected, but they need to come at the Republican Party as if they *don’t* care! As long as they care more than the Republicans in replacing Obama, the Tea Party is going to lose power, because the Republicans will be able to use Obama as a bargaining chip with them.

  18. radargeek says:

Who is this F’in person? She needs to be replaced as a spokesperson for the TP NOW! She has no clue what the RINOs will do if voted in. The dems are driving a NASCAR (US) over the cliff. RINOs are diving the US over the cliff with an SUV. RINOS are going to be alittle slower at destroying this country than the dems, but our country WILL be destroyed. She is commiting political suicide with our only hope of getting our country back from these wolves! She needs to be replaced NOW!! I WILL NOT VOTE for a RINO again! Who does she think she is? I will not vote R’s just to get a d out! FU girl!

  19. niner says:

I dont trust anything that has Dick Armey behind it, also he is anti-Palin. Romney is a Liberal, wakeup! Sarah knocked it out of th park this morning on Fox Sunday.
Great job, Tammy on the Palin report.

  20. beefmyers says:

When it ALL comes down in the end, on Nov 2, 2012, are you going to vote for OBAMA, stay home, or vote AGAINST OBAMA. I really thing you have only one choice here. Let’s hope that Romney isn’t our only choice, and do all we can do in the meantime to ensure he is not.

  21. tavizon says:

RINO Romney will not win the primary We are all aware of this guy and those who claim to be Tea Party leaders…Trolls or not they will use words/actions to expose themselves

  22. LJZumpano says:

Am reminded that you don’t win when your purpose is voting against someone and not for something. When Hilary first ran for Senate in NY, her GOP opponent focused his whole campaign on “Anybody but Hilary”. Problem one, he already had the “Anybody but Hilary” vote & didn’t need to campaign on it. 2. He neglected to give strong reasons why he would be better for NY if elected. For the GOP to win in 2012 they need to understand that they already have the “anybody but BHO vote” and concentrate on getting out a positive message of why they will be better for all of us.

I don’t know who this Amy Kremer is but she doesn’t speak for me. Dr. Daniel Amen

  24. Ginger says:

I think Amy is speaking pretty clearly. It’s obvious that the Tea Party will have to hold their nose and gag if Romney or another Rino is the nominee. As the Hillary people had to embrace (not all did) Obama, we have to maybe not embrace, but support the Republican candidate. Third parties have a history of splitting the ticket and Obama has GOT to go! Even if Romney were elected, and it was a slower detriment to our country, still, it would buy us more time to purge and clean. Tea Party’s job now is to push against these Rino’s.. ya know, don’t support them until we have to…Tea Party needs to be scaring the establishment, so in that sense, at this time, saying we’ll go along with a Rino might be saying too much too soon.

    • makeshifty says:

This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but Obama in a sense is the best thing that’s happened to this country in a while. He’s kind of the anti-Reagan. Reagan gave us something to look forward to and be proud of. Obama gives us something to be disgusted about, and ashamed of. If I recall correctly, Tammy has said this also. He’s gotten people to wake up and realize how bankrupt the Establishment is, and that what it’s been doing is destroying the country. If we replace Obama with Romney I think that’s going to put the people to sleep, much as we were (at least I was for a while) when George W. Bush was president. I think Bush had his mistakes, but he was a more competent president than Obama is today. That instilled more confidence, and people worried less about the issues that we’re worried about today. That’s what I cautioned against in my earlier comment about Romney. He’s probably a more competent guy, which would create less disruption and increase confidence, but that would mask the larger problem, which is that the direction the Establishment is taking this country is destroying us! You say it would give us more time, but once the perceived problem is gone, how motivated are people going to be in reforming what’s broken in our political system? In my view we need to either elect people who we can have confidence will change the direction of this country in a way that’s more to our liking, or what we need in there is someone who will continue to highlight the problems of the Establishment so that more people get it, and that’s not Romney. We’re out of time for half measures. It’s time for America to make a decision, and it can’t do that if it can’t see that it needs to make that decision.

  25. Kimj7157 says:

This comes back to the fact that “Tea Party” is a MOVEMENT. And although it needs to be organized to a certain degree, there is no leader, as such. We know who we are and what we believe and stand for, and we won’t/don’t need a self-proclaimed Tea Party spokesperson telling us what we need to do and who we need to vote for. If you think of yourself as a Tea Partier, you already get it and you’ll do what needs to be done. The fact is that the ONLY person out there that TOTALLY fits the Tea Party bill is Sarah Palin. End of story. And once she declares her candidacy, any Tea Party spokespeople out there better be on board.

    • imacat says:

Right on, Kim! These so-called TEA Party organizations need to remember where the money is coming from, and that is US. If we lose confidence in TEA Party organizations to stand up against both Obama and RINOs, then their funding will dry up. I personally have only ever sent money to SarahPAC, Organize4Palin, individual candidates endorsed by Palin and/or Tammy, and a few local politicians in my state. Thank God our MOVEMENT is so much bigger than these supposed spokespeople!
