Unfortunately for the media and other liberals, Christie’s BridgeGate isn’t making Robert Gates’ book “Duty” go away. It’s set for release on Tuesday, and Gates has begun to do additional interviews. Be prepared, of course, for the media to do whatever they can to smear Gates. I think he’s a man, however, who can handle it. In fact, here’s a screenshot of Google’s top news links related to Gates. As expected:

From CBS Sunday Morning via RCP.

Fmr SECRETARY OF DEFENSE ROBERT GATES: It’s one thing to tell the troops that you support them. It’s another to work at making them believe that you believe as president that their sacrifice is worth it, that the cause is just, that what they are doing was important for the country, and that they must succeed. President Bush did that with the troops when I was Secretary. I did not see President Obama do that. As I write in the book, it was this absence of passion, this absence of a conviction of the importance of success that disturbed me. (CBS Sunday Morning, January 12, 2014)

And not that this will surprise you. Both McCain and Rubio go after Gates saying he should have waited to write the book until Obama was out of office. I guess that’s so Obama could go on wrecking the country without any pushback. Jackasses all of them.

A pair of Republican senators said Sunday that former Defense Secretary Robert Gates should’ve waited to publish his bombshell book that contains scathing critiques of President Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden and others within the administration.

“I think, frankly, I might’ve, if I had given him advice, I would’ve waited,” Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republican, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, echoed those thoughts and said the book could carry negative consequences for the U.S.

“I think it undermines the ability to conduct foreign policy,” he said on CBS‘ “Face the Nation.”

Title of the book fits in with Bill Kristol’s recent column about what Obama doesn’t do. Kristol’s column has a nice title too.

Rather than just being silent, while someone else is shining the light on incompetence and dereliction of duty regarding our troops, McCain, Rubio and other GOP find it disturbing that Gates would write his book now? They’re just jealous. In fact, these RINOs should be ashamed. At least he’s bringing attention to OBummer’s failure of leadership. These jackwagons have been complicit to it, and done nothing to stop it. Turn on the light, and watch the cockroaches scatter. I believe there’s more to be exposed (before) Mr. O leaves the office.

I find this bizarre, because weren’t there reports immediately after the Gates thing came out, that McCain was supporting what he said? I think you even read it on your show, Tammy. I guess now he felt the heat and decided to change his tune? Or is he trying to say now that he just questions the timing? bah

There are, I think, some premature reactions coming out. I was a bit surprised Donald Trump panned Gates on what’s come out so far. No one’s read the book yet, except for some officials inside the government. I guess Trump dislikes the smell of disloyalty. Some have asked why Gates is coming out with these complaints now. “Why didn’t he air them at the time, rather than waiting until this book?” Gauging from the reaction of the White House, Gates’s complaints are not news to them. So he made them known somehow.

I had the thought just now, “Of course, this is the way liberals will interpret Gates’s comment:”
