She equated higher education with freedom: “With a good education, you can get a job that pays a decent salary or more. You can provide for your family, which is key. And you can become whatever you dream of becoming, which is the kind of freedom that I want all of you to have….
What? With a good job, you can become whatever you dream of becoming?
Didn’t Nancy Pelosi claim the exact opposite about Obamacare?
…“A bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care. You won’t have to be job locked.”
And a more important question:
Why is Mooch suddenly pushing student loans?
As the CNS article points out:
The Financial Stability Oversight Council, a division of the U.S. Treasury, reported in April 2013 that “large and growing student debt burdens and a poor job market have pushed many borrowers into delinquency.” The 2013 annual report also warned of larger economic consequences: “High student debt burdens may impact demand for housing, as young borrowers may be less able to access mortgage credit. Student debt levels may also lead to dampened consumption.”
But…Mrs. Obama touted federal student aid applications as quick, easy and free: “And it can help you access the thousands of dollars to help you and your family pay for college. And that’s true — and this is important — no matter who you are. You don’t have to be the valedictorian. You don’t have to major in a certain subject. You don’t even have to be at the very bottom of the income ladder to receive the money…
“So that’s why I’m here. And that’s my message for you and for students all across the country: Fill out those forms. Fill them out! (Laughter.) Don’t leave money on the table. Parents, don’t leave money on the table. Fill out the form.”
Ah yes, more gubmint “free” cheese.

Shifra, what I find amazing is that just 6 short years ago, if Bush had touted this kind of crap to the American people, they would have pulled up the van from the looney bin right to the WH doors and hauled him off somewhere never to be heard from again. I am confounded at the unity of craziness on the left. We all know OBummer wants to give the wealth of America away, to break her. Nevermind that Mooch and Nancy are not on the same page, the State media will clean up the unicorn poo and they’ll move on to the next fantasy.
Nevermind that no one is asking these fools how are you are supposed to LIVE while you quit your job to pursue you lifelong dream of basket weaving for the black bears of the Klondike. How does one campaign against a candidate that pledges “free money for everyone”? These are childish promises, by children and for children. The appeal is overwhelming, and opposition is branded as mean. Indeed, we immediately go on the defensive, flailing to explain why we’re not mean.
Are there adults in Washington? Not many.
