Why It’s Nice That Ann-Margret Won An Emmy Last Night
by Tammy on August 22, 2010On Saturday night here in Los Angeles legendary actor Ann-Margret finally won an Emmy after 6 previous nominations (she’s also been nominated twice for an Oscar). While the main Emmy awards are next Sunday, the “Creative Arts” subset were handed out Saturday night to behind-the-scenes people and actors nominated for guest-starring roles. The now 69-year-old performer won her statuette for Guest Actress in a Drama Series on Law & Order: SVU. Why they would not have category like this air on the main show is beyond me, but that’s another issue. I mention Ann-Margret because in this day of Hollywood leading the charge against our military, making movies and television shows that regularly cast our troops as villains, it’s worth...

Obama Disses Boy Scouts. Boy Scouts Boo Obama.
by Tammy on August 7, 2010Your inspirational video for the weekend. It was the right thing to do. Remember, Obama went on “The View” instead of attending the 100th Anniversary Jamboree. So he sends a video. They send boos. I have a feeling when President Palin attends the 103rd Jamboree there might be a little bit of a different reception 😉 I love us. Via Gateway Pundit.

Independence Day
by Pat_S on July 4, 2010A post by Pat The Declaration of Independence. “We pledge our lives, our fortunes, our sacred honor.” The War for Independence led to The Constitution of The United States of America. We won and so on the Fourth of July we celebrate a breakthrough for humanity—liberty. Not that others haven’t tried. Few freedom fighters have any fortunes to give other than their lives. They are everywhere, but rarely successful. They languish in prisons. They face firing squads. They are hunted down like animals. What freedom fighters universally share is an inner conviction that we are destined for better things and that liberty is indispensible to achieving them. A sacred honor. Obama wasn’t the first to use the word “change” in...

Happy Flag Day!
by Tammy on June 14, 2010I hope you’re flying yours high. Everyday, in fact. Here’s some background on how Flag Day got started, courtesy of the National Flag Day Foundation. On June 14th, 1885, Bernard J. Cigrand, a 19 year old teacher at Stony Hill School, placed a 10 inch, 38- star flag in a bottle on his desk then assigned essays on the flag and its significance. This observance, commemorated Congresses adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777. This observance was also the beginning of Cigrand’s long years of fervent and devoted effort to bring about national recognition and observance of Flag Day. The crowning achievement of his life came at age fifty when...

Going Galt
by Tammy on March 21, 2010The Ugly American over at SondraK provides tonight’s (and forever’s) theme song. I hope everyone gets a good night’s sleep because we’ve got a lot of work to do. Roll up those sleeves Patriots, and keep that powder dry. And those Republicans? They better have a damn plan. Related Link: Wikipedia: John Galt

The Spirit at Christmas
by Pat_S on December 23, 2009A post by Pat Christmas is traditionally a time for gathering with family and friends. It has special meaning for Christians but the day is an opportunity for all to reflect on the treasure of love, the great gift of life and the wish for a better tomorrow. We’d like to forget the intruding worldly concerns bombarding us for just one day. Often the burdens of the world will not budge. For those of us who gather here, our hearts and minds are troubled by the assault on the founding principles of our country. Tomorrow, Christmas Eve, the Senate is going to pass an odious piece of legislation after a spectacle of contempt toward the American people. Many are feeling...

Made In USA?
by Maynard on November 13, 2009A post by Maynard Even though I’m a heartless, selfish conservative, I want to do my part to help alleviate unemployment and lessen the trade deficit. If I’m making a purchase, I’d rather buy American if possible. I feel a particular obligation to seek an American option when buying a gift or luxury item, because these are purchases I could forgo if they’re not pleasing in every way. With Christmas the holidays coming up, maybe this website, StillMadeInUSA.com, will give you some ideas. I just bought this pair of American-made winter slippers (for myself!) from Northstar Trading. Speaking of footwear, I’m usually wearing my New Balance 993‘s (available on Amazon and elsewhere). These, and a few other New Balance shoes,...

The United States of…Smooth Jazz?
by Tammy on September 3, 2009Maybe they thought Elevator Music would soothe the Savage, Mob, Nazi, Brownshirt, Astroturfed Beasts. It didn’t. House Reverses Decision to Drop Patriotic Songs From On-Hold Music So long, John Philip Sousa. Hello, Kenny G. That was the short-lived message House leadership sent to lawmakers over the break, as the “on-hold” music that so many constituents hear when they call their congressman was switched from patriotic tunes to smooth jazz standards — or, as one lawmaker complained, “elevator music.” The switch was quickly reversed, though, following complaints and controversy. A spokesman for House Chief Administrative Officer Daniel Beard, who reports to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Tuesday that after a three-week trial period constituents will once again hear patriotic favorites while...

This Is Why I Love Us
by Tammy on August 23, 2009And why I am honored, and grateful, to be an American. The following is video of a Marine confronting Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) who compared Townhall Patriots of “brown shirt tactics” and compared them to a “lynch mob.” He eventually apologized, but here he learned who makes this country great, strong, and free, and it’s not politicians.

Money Talks, Liberty Shouts
by Pat_S on August 8, 2009A post by Pat Dick Durbin and others claimed insurance companies and “people like them” were behind the townhall protests. This was to discredit the angry turnout as manufactured and counterfeit. Today the drug industry announced they are spending $150 million for TV ads to back the White House healthcare plan. Taking the ‘manufactured’ charge at face value, insurance companies are contemptible for acting in their corporate interest, but not drug companies. (Not today anyway.) Shouts of individual Americans who go to townhall meetings are to be silenced while slick big government propaganda may intrude into our homes. Drugmakers ready $150 million for Obama plan U.S. drugmakers stand ready to spend $150 million to help President Barack Obama overhaul health...

Obama’s Union Gestapos in Action
by Tammy on August 7, 2009UPDATE: Here’s the list of upcoming DeathCare townhalls. Now that Obama thinks he can intimidate, threaten and physically harm you into submission, your participation is more important than ever. I guess this is what they meant when Obama said Democrats should “punch back twice as hard” and then sent our union thugs to DeathCare townhalls. There is a background for such rhetoric and action–it’s called 1933 Germany. Health Care for America Now (HCAN) is the umbrella group organizing Obama’s gestapos. Up until now, citizens have simply voiced their opinions against Deathcare at the townhalls. Enter Obama Gestapos. Here’s just one sample of how HCAN prepared their activists with classic gestapo organizing tips: HCAN – the massive umbrella organization that represents...

Music Worthy of America’s Birthday
by Tammy on July 3, 2009We have about one day to go before we get to celebrate the birthday of the greatest country on Earth, the United States of America. Many of us were simply lucky enough to have been born here, having had brave and adventurous ancestors. Many of you made the decision to leave your country of birth and become Americans. All of us, no matter how we came to receive such a great gift, owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who made this nation possible. In honor of President Washington and all the Founders, and to treat all of us as we head into our holiday, here is a video from 1991 of Whitney Houston singing our National Anthem at Super...
