Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked on TV this morning whether he thinks the IRS actions violated the law:
Sorta like when the president does it, that means it’s not illegal?
Apparently, “irrelevant” is Dan Pfeiffer’s favorite word today. Also ‘irrelevant’ is where Obama was during Benghazi.

“The question here is, not what happened that night, the question is what are we going to do to move forward to insure this doesn’t happen again.” Tell me again exactly how we do that without determining that happened that night?
These people are insane.
The usual suspects in the media are trying to marginalize the fact of and motivation for IRS targetting by stipulating it’s a bad thing—not necessary to say anything more about it. Then they try to move the discussion to reforming the tax code or the Citizens United SCOTUS decision or even Nixon. Divert to tangential issues and forget what is at the center.
It’s the same old tactic with Democrat scandals, move on, even if “move on” means talk about Republican scandals that happened decades ago.
Pat, I agree with you completely, *however,* references to Nixon (as I make here) are important for a generation that has been educated to understand, via Nixon, that this behavior is not only unacceptable and morally wrong and unconstitutional, but also possibly illegal. Considering the essential political brainwashing that at least one generation has experienced, I think it key to use something/someone (like Nixon) that gives perspective to the nature of what is occurring. In order to properly address the remarkable nature of what is happening here, and all its implications, we can’t rely on simple explanation, we must provide an example that breaks through the conditioning Americans have faced for over the past decade.
In other words, Tammy aspires to maintain perspective; to put this event in the context of historical executive misdeeds; to view the big picture. Too many people look at incidents in isolation, which defeats our ability to maintain a national legal or moral standard. Instead we condemn or condone based upon feelings, and are swayed by manipulation and demagoguery. You can’t run a country the way you run your private life. It’s one thing to prefer to party with blondes rather than brunettes; it’s another to demand that blondes and brunettes be held to different legal standards.
Benghazi: In a technical way a physical placement could be irrelevant ( was he in the bath, the hallway, the kitchen, watching “Beerfest” with the someone in the White House for the 100’th time). That there is no evidence the Commander in Chief lifted a finger to help people he placed in harms way is relevant.
Irrelevant = What difference does it make now? They’re not giving up on that meme, they’re just changing the tone for IRS scandal, from that of Hillary on Benghazi scandal. And Holder with his talking point on AP phone records scandal, says it was needed because security breach was so large, ie, objections to obtaining AP phone records could possibly be relevant but not in this case.
Declaring relevancy is like declaring the news. MSM doesn’t go along with many conservative views by saying, that isn’t news. MSM shouldn’t be surprised when Democrats say, that isn’t relevant.
I don’t care how fast Dan Pfeiffer talks, he sounds like a bad song that keeps skipping on a record player. I know I just dated myself. The more they keep repeating the same *irrelevant* lines, the more I think the worst about where OBummer was and what he wasn’t doing…helping our people dying in that hell hole!
