Horrible, horrible news out of Paris this morning. Islamists stormed the offices of satircal magazine ‘Charlie Hedbo’ and murdered at least 12 people, including two of the most famous cartoonists in the world. The journalists murdered were heroes, confronting the scourge of Radical Islam and all of its malignant tumors. May they rest in peace.

Here’s the latest:

Terror attack at Paris magazine leaves 12 dead; gunmen escape

Hooded gunmen shouting Islamic phrases stormed the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo Wednesday, killing 11 people, including the editor and four cartoonists whose work has included controversial drawings of the Prophet Mohammed.

The two gunmen armed with Kalashnikovs fled in a stolen car in the Paris suburb after exchanging gunfire with police at the scene, killing one, France24 reports.

Video shot from a second floor window shows the pair calmly getting inside the dark-colored vehicle in the middle of the street before driving away. Police said the car was later founded abandoned in the nearby 19th district in northeastern Paris.

France raised its security alert to the highest level and reinforced security at houses of worship, stores, media offices and transportation.

President Francois Hollande, appearing at the scene immediately following the incident, said the shooting was “undoubtedly a terrorist attack” and said several other terror attacks had been thwarted in recent weeks.

Four years ago, the same offices were firebombed after a spoof issue featuring a caricature of the prophet on its cover.

On the eve of the latest attack, the magazine’s editor, Stephane Charbonnet, who was killed, had engaged in a public feud with the terrorist group known as ISIS, or Islamic State.

Powerline:

Already, some news outlets are blurring the images of Mohammed that Charlie Hebdo has published, like this one:

mohammad

No word yet on who the terrorists are–they are still at large as of this moment, and may well commit more murders–but most likely, they are just a couple of lone wolves. Those damned lone wolves are getting so thick on the ground, pretty soon we will have to put up traffic signals for them. French police could have a lot of suspects: an ICM poll in August found that 27% of French citizens aged 18-24 express a positive opinion towards ISIS. Here’s a hint: they aren’t named Pierre.

USA Today companion article reminds us that in 2012, France’s Foreign Minister said that CH publishing Mohammed cartoons was like the U.S. posting of a YouTube video. Hey Hillary, are you still saying; at this point, what difference does it make?

The irony is that it wasn’t long ago when Islam was irrelevant outside of the Islamic world and it was politically correct to slander our local Christians. Now that Islam has pushed into view by actually perpetrating all those horrible crimes that innocent Christians were accused of, “enlightened” people go into denial and make excuses.

NBC is reporting that one of the suspects is dead and the other two in custody.

One paragraph that really stood up from that article was the following:

“Because the masked, black-clad gunmen attacked with militaristic precision and left the scene with shouts of “AllahuAkbar,” the killers were suspected to be well-trained Islamic extremists. But their motive and backgrounds are still being investigated.” (emphasis mine).

Their motive is still investigated? Scratching my head …

The camel is no longer pushing its nose under the tent, it’s in the tent and screwing the occupants before killing them. All in the name of the Moon God?

Horrible. My prayers go out to these families.

  7. From time to time Tammy has told the story on her show of how the US military dealt with snipers in the aftermath of WW II. If they were found to be operating in a block of houses and buildings, that block would be razed. I think we should use that as a kind of template for our present situation. Terrorists of this kind are usually associated with a Mosque. When this kind of attack occurs, you go in and revoke the passports and green cards of every member of that Mosque who is not a natural born citizen and you send them back to the old country without exception. You then destroy the building and sell off the land and use the proceeds for the victims and to fund the war against the terrorists. This would send the correct message to those who support and shelter such people.

Last night’s and today’s editions of the evening news of TF1 in France have been very good. The reporting on the details of the massacre has been exceptional, including the demonstrations across France, the background of the killers, and how they were able to get into the building. Tonight there was an interview with the companion of the chief editor of the magazine, Charbonnier, who had been living under death threats.
