Dogs Meant For Soup At Winter Olympics in South Korea Rescued
by Tammy on February 10, 2018Thank God. Great work by the Humane Society International! Via Mirror. (Note: Pictures in original article sad but not violent). They huddle together in cramped cages, whining and shivering in the bitter cold weather – destined for bowls of soup and stew served up at the Winter Olympics. But these pitiful pooches were the lucky ones, given a last-minute reprieve from slaughter in a bid to close a barbaric dog meat farm. Animal aid workers had good reason to celebrate as they hugged the excited animals after Humane Society International (HSI) persuaded the owner to give up his business, helping him to start a different trade. His decision saved 90 pups and fully grown dogs from brutal death by electrocution...

(Video) Photographer Rescues Eagle Trapped In Mud
by Shifra on August 12, 2016With all the horrible news lately, here’s something that reminds us there is also so much that is good in the world. Via Telegraph. A nature photographer came to the rescue of a white-tailed eagle that became stuck in thick coastal mud near the Polish town of Swinoujscie, and a drone captured video of the dramatic and dangerous operation. With the help of local firefighters, and after attempts to retrieve the eagle by other means had failed, Krzysztof Chomicz dragged himself through the sludge to reach the trapped bird while attached to a rope leading to dry land. Despite the distressed eagle attacking Chomicz in the arm and leg, the photographer managed to carry it back to safety…. Chomicz has...

Video: Last Surviving 9/11 Search Dog Nominated For Hero Award
by Shifra on September 11, 2014As Tammy says, “This is who we are.” Via Today: Last known 9/11 Ground Zero search dog still lends a helping paw This one has feathery fur, a sunny smile, a calm nature and — for a dog — an uncanny ability to zero in on the people who need her most. She’s a 15-year-old golden retriever named Bretagne, and she’s believed to be the last surviving search dog who worked at Ground Zero in New York City after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. (One other surviving search dog from 9/11, a 15-year-old English springer spaniel named Morgan, worked at Staten Island.) For the first time since the recovery efforts after the attack, Bretagne returned this week to the...

Best Day of Fishing Ever: Fishermen Rescue Four Deer!
by oualdeaux on February 23, 2014**Bumped up from TamWire. Posted by oualdeaux** Charter boat in Southeast Alaska spots deer in distress — does the right thing! Via The Pet Collective: Went Fishing, Caught 4 Deer… A once in the history of mankind kind of thing!… Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe, but this guy has pictures to prove his story… I’ve heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this… Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat. Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us. We could tell...

Man Faces Felony Charge Over Trimming Shrubs
by Tammy on December 4, 2013Just like fish, government rots from the head down. This is just stupid, petty tyranny. Via AP and UT San Diego, HT Foundry. Trimming overgrown shrubs may have won Juvencio Adame praise from neighbors, but it also brought the San Diego man a felony charge from prosecutors. Adame, 46, was charged with defacement, damage and destruction in excess of $400 after he pruned shrubbery on city land next to his Ocean Beach property… Adame, who is known as “Vince,” told neighbors that the shrubs in the neighborhood popular with surfers had become a haven for homeless people to sleep and litter… Neighbor Glenn Goss said the case is a waste of taxpayer money and that Adame is being prosecuted for...

Yay! ‘Crumb & Get It’ Bakery Business Booming After Saying No To Biden
by Tammy on August 17, 2012I discussed this on the Laura Ingraham show and was concerned that leftists might try to hurt his business. So, we encouraged you to support Crumb & Get It if possible. Well, looks like we weren’t the only ones. Business has never been better for this new little bakery! The phone are ringing off the hook and they are getting support from across the country. Another example of our grassroots revolution! One of the very smart things supporters out of the area are doing is placing bakery orders and asking for the goods to be delivered to local vet groups, homeless shelters, etc. I love us! Via WDBJ in Virginia. One man in Radford is being called the next “Joe...
