“We Are All Arizonans Now”
by Tammy on May 16, 2010Following up on Chris’ first and excellent post on the current situation in Arizona, here is video of Palin’s appearance Saturday with Governor Jan Brewer. It is good to see these women understand the importance of standing their ground for this whole nation. The left must not succeed in the fascist tactic of bullying and threatening a state of this nation into submission on issues as important as law enforcement, safety and national sovereignty. I must say, I think supporting Arizona is now as important as kicking the bums out of Washington in November and in 2012.

Arizona: Boycott the Boycotters?
by Chris on May 16, 2010A (first ever) post by Chris **Tammy Note: Woo hoo! Welcome to the blogging part of the United States of Tammy Chris!!** In response to California’s kneejerk reaction to Arizona’s immigration law SB1070, some Arizonans are having their say, too. Some in Arizona canceling trips to S.D. San Diego tourism leaders and hoteliers fear they could lose a sizable chunk of business this summer from valued “Zonies” who are so angered by elected leaders’ recent censure of Arizona for its illegal-immigration law that they’re mounting an informal boycott of their own. The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and several hotels report receiving e-mails and letters from Arizona visitors saying they intend to change their plans to travel here in...

AZ Gov Jan Brewer Takes On Obama
by Tammy on May 7, 2010Not only is Brewer not backing down, she’s ramping up the fight. This is called Leadership. This ad nails Obama and is paid for by Governor Jan Brewer. Her fight is good for Arizona and good for this nation. Supporting Arizona must be at the top of our list in all our efforts.

Everything You Need to Know About SB1070 And More
by Pat_S on April 30, 2010A post by Pat The issue of illegal immigration and the essence of SB1070 are summed up in under 4 minutes by a lovely lady in Tucson. It isn’t about race, it’s about law. We proudly welcome Gabriella and all immigrants who honor the law and desire to be an integrated part of the American fabric. I love it that Gabriella passed out copies of SB1070* for members of the City Council to read. A brilliant coup de grace. (H/T ArtGal) * Tweaks recently added. See previous post.

Arizona Tweaks Immigration Bill
by Tammy on April 30, 2010These are good adjustments as its sponsor Sen. Russell Pearce notes,”just to take away the silly arguments and the games, the dishonesty that’s been played.” Good for them. I’ve noted since this passed, everyone should welcome court challenges, which it will survive, and therefore strengthen the bill itself as a template for other states. The willingness of Arizona lawmakers to make adjustments also signals they’re ready to stand by this important legislation and make it work. Arizona lawmakers OK several changes to immigration law Arizona lawmakers have approved several changes to the recently passed sweeping law targeting illegal immigration. If Gov. Jan Brewer supports the changes, they will go into effect at the same time as the new law, 90...

Thank You Arizona
by Pat_S on April 23, 2010A post by Pat It had to be done and they did it. Gov. Brewer signed S.B. 1070 into law addressing the crisis the federal government has refused to fix. Now get ready for the fallout. The law is attacked as empowering law enforcement to engage in racial profiling. Gov. Brewer and law enforcement officials assure that won’t be the case. The pro-amnesty forces will waste no time going after the law with legal challenges, boycotts and everything else in their toolbox. Some will say the law makes it even more imperative to pass immigration “reform”. Fox News’ Judge Napolitano sums up the anti-1070 arguments succinctly. We should stand by and let millions of people enter the country illegally, be...

The Does By Any Other Name Should Be Deported
by Pat_S on April 3, 2010A post by Pat The Arkansas legal system was unnecessarily burdened to spend time and money on a preposterous lawsuit. Two of them in fact. A state worker did his job properly by denying a driver’s license renewal for an illegal immigrant when she could not produce proper ID. The woman, her husband and her son sued. They claimed requiring proof of legal immigration for a driver’s license is unconstitutional. The Benton County Circuit Court dismissed the lawsuit. However, the reason for dismissal was not that the plaintiffs are here illegally, had a hell of a nerve to pull this kind of crap and will be deported in the morning. It was dismissed on the technical point that the family...

Should America Welcome Immigrants with HIV?
by Maynard on October 30, 2009Obama is lifting the US ban on visitors and immigrants with HIV. President Barack Obama said Friday the U.S. will overturn a 22-year-old travel and immigration ban against people with HIV early next year. The order will be finalized on Monday, Obama said, completing a process begun during the Bush administration. Which diseases should be a basis to bar entry to America, either as a visitor or an immigrant? The major ailments on the current list are HIV, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, syphilis, and leprosy. The recent movement has been to remove HIV from the list, on the logic that it’s treatable (although not curable) and not easily transmitted. On the other hand, there’s certainly a real cost to taxpayers and a...

U.S. Immigration Agency Gearing Up for Amnesty
by Pat_S on October 3, 2009A post by Pat More overconfidence from Obama and a question of priorities: U.S. immigration agency girds for workload spike …Obama told immigration officials that a legalization program would be part of legislation the White House would propose. The U.S. government agency in charge of processing naturalization and residency applications is preparing for a surge in its workload if President Barack Obama pushes ahead with federal immigration reform next year granting millions of undocumented workers legal status. A spokesman for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services said the agency is gearing up to handle the huge increase in applications expected if immigration reform is passed by the U.S. Congress. “This agency has been preparing for the advent of any...

Can you say “You deceive” in the House?
by Pat_S on September 16, 2009A post by Pat Isn’t it curious that there was more of a media debate about giving drivers licenses to illegals than about health care coverage? Where are the editorials and the Sunday show discussions about how mean-spirited and unfair it is to exclude illegals from health care? I would have expected to see more like this from E.J. Dionne. Wilson and Our National Character I am not at all at peace with the fact that the one issue about which a member of Congress chose to rise up and accuse our president of being a liar related to the charge that our chief executive wasn’t doing enough to build walls between illegal immigrants and health coverage. How mean-spirited will...

Leveraging Selfishness – Boycotting the census for amnesty
by Pat_S on September 8, 2009A post by Pat Some illegals and pro-amnesty supporters are urging illegals not to be counted in the 2010 census. Honest people might jump to the conclusion shame or fear may be the motivator. That is a mistake. It is a boycott intended to pressure politicians to empathize with the plight of being here illegally and do something to provide a path to legalization. If illegals don’t allow themselves to be counted, governments will receive less money based on census figures. Pro-amnesty sympathizers are urged to join in the boycott. As one immigrant leader puts it. “Politics is about power and money, and by not giving your information, you’ll be taking away money and power from the politicians.’’ People who...

Palin Tweets Against Driver Licenses for Illegal Aliens
by Tammy on July 21, 2009I have been supporting Sarah Palin but always with the reminder that we had not heard her own stance on the important issue of immigration and our nation’s sovereignty. During the campaign she indicated support for McCain’s untenable position, but we would expect her to considering she was on his ticket. Since then, however, I’ve been waiting for her to articulate some position on the issue which would alert us to her own thoughts on the issue, and we finally have it, via a Tweet. Here’s what she posted last night: This is a nice hint at her sense of sovereignty and the notion of legal versus illegal immigration. Personally, I’m thrilled with this glimpse, and look forward to hearing...

Clearing the Way for Illegal Immigration
by Pat_S on February 12, 2009A post by Pat The original House version of the stimulus bill included a requirement that contractors receiving stimulus funds must use the E-verify program. That requirement disappeared in the Senate. It is probably a moot point. With the E-verify...
